Up close & personal Benjielyn Rose A. Ongluico

CEBU, Philippines - Benjielyn Rose Ongluico or Benj to her family and friends does not look at the world with so much drama and describes herself as a happy-go-lucky kinda gal. Benj’s top secret? The golden rule: Obey your parents.

“I am an obedient daughter. I always do what I am asked to do,” she said. And yes, even if it’s against her will, against her reason, and even against her character. “Of course, that is part of being a daughter. Our parents know what is best for us,” Benj explains. She could be wrong. But, on the other hand, perhaps she could be right!

At the age of 20, Benj sets a better example to the young people on how to live one’s life. She never misses that wonderful chance to take a good look around her world. This inspiring lady reminds one of Mike Murdock’s Law of Recognition.

According to Murdock, everything you need is already in your life, merely awaiting your recognition of it. Anything unrecognized remains uncelebrated by you. Anything you refuse to celebrate eventually exits your life - a gift, a miracle, or a person. How about we give Benj our admiration and applause that she deserves?

Benj is currently taking up Management Accounting in University of San Carlos-Main. Beauty pageant is not new to her, too. With her beauty and wisdom, she has won many awards. But her true beauty comes from her heart. Indeed, a force to be reckoned with.

She won 3rd runner-up in Miss Mandaue 2008 and Miss Miss Commerce-USC 2009. She also joined Miss JPIA 2008 – National Federation where she placed first. Like the Regional Federation in Miss JPIA 2008 where she won the title, Benj also bagged the Miss Surigao tiara in 2009.

One of Benj’s interests is watching movies and the film The Shawshank Redemption is her favorite. She also loves to cook! According to Benj, her patience and perseverance are her two qualities that would bring her success in life.

“Good things come to those who wait and persevere. Success does not come in an instant. One has to work hard for it and that entails time,” Benj avers.
