A more compelling teleserye

Like a teleserye that gets more suspenseful with every airing, the revelation that Andi Eigenmann is pregnant has attracted a big following as new revelations unfold.

It began with blind items that a young actress who starred in a primetime TV series was expecting a baby. Speculations quickly spread and soon details began to emerge, providing clues to the actress’ identity.

But the guessing game came to an abrupt end last week, when veteran actress Jaclyn Jose revealed that her 21-year-old daughter Andi was four months pregnant. "I just want to tell everyone that, yes, it's true, my daughter is pregnant," Jaclyn began. "It’s not easy to accept but I have to because she’s my daughter and I love her very much. And there’s no one else to help her but me and her family."

To Andi’s fans, Jaclyn had this message: "I know my daughter had done something wrong, but don’t judge her now. Let’s just give her a chance."

Naturally, the question begged: Who is the father? Jaclyn did not give a name but provided a bagful of broad hints. She said the father was none other than the first boyfriend of her daughter, who abandoned her when he learned that she was pregnant.

"I don’t want to talk about him anymore…I feel angry every time I think of him but that's over," Jaclyn said.

It’s long been confirmed in showbiz circles that Andi had a thing going with Albie Casiño. But there were also rumors that she had been going out with Jake Ejercito, the son of former President Joseph Estrada and former actress Laarni Enriquez.

As expected, the plot thickened in the next few days. "All lies. Her source's name is probably BS, " Jake tweeted. His denial came after Pilipino Star Ngayon's story quoted a source saying that Andi and Jake were already living together.

Jake also emphatically denied he was Andi’s first boyfriend.

Albie's mother, Rina Casiño, joined in the fray, although said she did not confirm or deny her son was the father of Andi’s baby. "No one's denying nor confirming. Just saying he is not her 1st BF and I didnt hear Ms. Jaclyn say Albie. Did you?" Albie’s mom tweeted.

Finally it was Andi’s turn to say her piece. "For your better understanding, I've only had one boyfriend before Jake whom I've only been seeing for the past 2 months. Therefore, Jake cannot be the said ex-boyfriend whom everyone has been talking about," she tweeted.

The teleserye is no doubt far more compelling than any of the primetime offerings on TV. It has a bigger audience too, I’m sure. Expect more bombshells today, when showbiz talk shows try to outdo and outrate each other by "exclusives" on Andi’s pregnancy.

Just who is this stalker whom Angel Locsin says keeps pestering her?

The only clue that Angel provided in her Twitter post is that he is a former boyfriend. Her tweet reflected the actress’ extreme annoyance. "‘Dear ex, stop texting, stalking and fighting me. I protected you but if you don’t stop I will reveal what you’ve been up to." Angel’s last known BF was Luis Manzano. They broke up last year and lately she’s been dating Azkals player Phil Younghusband.

Talking about Phil, Angel’s tweets to him while the Azkals were playing in Sri Lanka revealed her affection and concern for him.

" Waiting for the match. Go azkals!!! :) wooohooo!!! :) " the actress tweeted before the start of the game. "Go Phil YHusband and JYH!!! :) Have fun guys! And go easy on 'em! :P Hehe!"

When Phil was substituted after suffering a hamstring injury, Angel tweeted: "Even the best athletes have shitty days. But you will ALWAYS be the best football player to me. Hope you're okay."
