John Lloyd's birthday wish

When John Lloyd Cruz, who celebrated his 28th birthday last week, was asked what he wanted for a gift from girlfriend Shaina Magdayao, his reply was, “A brand new car.” Lloydie was joking, of course.

The actor said he planned a “very simple and intimate party” for his birthday. And his birthday wish? “Good health for myself and for the rest of my family. You can have everything in the world but if you have an illness, everything seems to lose value. I just want to be able to enjoy my work and share the blessings that come my way.”

For Geneva Cruz, being a vegetarian is not about dieting. “It’s about loving all creatures,” declares the singer-actress, who has been voted as the Philippines’ Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity for 2011 by the animal rights group PETA.

Geneva became a vegan when she was 15. She was shooting a commercial for a shampoo in Palawan. “All I needed to do was to feed one of the animals and say the word ‘natural.’ We did several takes until I finally gave up. I just couldn’t do it.”

In winning the title of Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity she bested other local screen stars like Alicia Mayer, Yasmien Kurdi, Chin-Chin Gutierrez and Raymond Bagatsing, and even international celebs like Natalie Portman, Hayden Panettiere, Russell Brand and Leona Lewis.

Geneva, who has posed in sexy pictorials for leading men’s magazines FHM, Uno and Maxim, has also been a poster girl for PETA.

Did Luis Manzano snub the Yahoo OMG Awards last week? He was a no-show at the event despite being his being named as Best TV Host.

In a TV interview, Luis gave this explanation for his absence: “I was in Palawan. I spent three days there, two in the town of San Vicente for their fiesta. And then I went to Puerto Princesa the Mutya ng Palawan (festivities).”

He also didn’t have enough time to do a video of his acceptance speech, he said.

Luis also downplayed rumors that his ex-girlfriend Angel Locsin had campaigned for his rival in the Best TV Host category. “I don’t think I should comment about those who voted for the other nominees. To those who voted for me, thank you.”

Accepting her own award was Jennylyn Mercado, who Luis is widely rumored to be dating.

There will be no parties for Lindsay Lohan for quite a while.

A judge in California slapped the no-party ban on the 24-year-old actress for violating her probation by testing positive for alcohol she apparently imbibed during a barbecue bash in her home.

Lindsay has been under home detention since May after being convicted of stealing a $2,500 necklace from a jewelry store.

“I am ordering you not to have parties,” declared the judge. “You may have one friend over at a time and a family member if you want... Don't have barbecues on your roof so... all your neighbors write into the board of supervisors.”

The theft conviction was the latest in a long string of legal woes Lindsay has been mired in. She had already done jail time for violating probation for a drug and drunk driving offense in 2007.

Lindsay may have endured several days behind bars, but a ban on partying? That would be torture for a party animal like her.

You’d think he’d be devastated after his bride-to-be walked out on him. But Playboy’s Hugh Hefner is made of much sterner stuff.

Days after he was left out in the cold by Playmate Crystal Harris, the 85-year-old Hef has apparently found a new love. "With Crystal gone, Anna is my best girl. Anna is really one in a million," he tweeted.

And who is Anna?

According to the Hollywood Gossip website, she is Anna Sophia Berglund, the January 2011 Playmate of the Month.

Anna is said to have already moved in with Hef.
