Screening of Ms. World Phl on may 13

CEBU, Philippines - One of the country’s exciting beauty pageants is coming to Cebu to gather contestants for Ms. World Philippines.

Trimedia personality Cory Quirino was awarded the Miss World franchise by Miss World Limited President Julia Morley during the formal ceremony in Makati City earlier this year.

The new franchise means the Philippines can host an exclusive search for the country’s representative to the Miss World pageant.

Quirino will tour around the country to scout for intelligent and beautiful Filipinas for the first Miss World Philippines pageant to be presented in Manila on July 30, 2011.

Participants must be at least 5 feet 7 inches in height and must have a deep and great love for the country and intelligent enough to express her thoughts.

In Cebu, registration is set on May 13 and will begin at 10am at the Event Centre of SM City Cebu. Ms. Cory Quirino, the new franchise owner of Miss World, will be present during the screening in SM City Cebu.

“2011 marks the beginning of a new history for Miss World in our country simply because, for the very first time a Miss World Philippines will be crowned. She will become our Ambassadress of Goodwill to all nations the moment she steps onto the stage of the World Pageant. The Filipina who wins this coveted crown will be a shining example of the heart and soul of Filipino womanhood”, said Quirino in a statement.
