Charice cast in Hollywood film starring Salma Hayek

CEBU, Philippines - International singing sensation Charice scored another Hollywood role via the action-comedy “Here Comes the Boom,” starring Salma Hayek, reported ABS-CBN News.

According to the Internet Movie Database, Charice plays the role of Malia in the film which will be released next year by Sony Pictures. Apart from Salma Hayek, the film stars Kevin James (“Grown Ups,” “I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry”), Henry Winkler (“Click,” “Arrested Development”) and Joe Rogan (“Fear Factor”).

“Here Comes the Boom ” tells the story of a high school biology teacher (James) who moonlights as a mixed-martial arts fighter in an effort to raise money to save the school’s music program. Director Frank Coraci (“The Wedding Singer,” “Click”), who recently directed James in  “Zookeeper,” re-teams with the star.

Examiner.com, meanwhile, reported that Charice was spotted on the set of the movie in Boston the past weekend.

In 2009, Charice appeared as herself in the animated film “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel.” She is currently part of the hit musical TV series Glee as the Filipino exchange student Sunshine Corazon. (FREEMAN)
