Ferdinand Marcos' Aussie daughter axed from Australian reality show

-

CEBU, Philippines - An Australian interior designer said that she was removed from a home makeover reality show after she made the admission that her father was the late Philippine dictator Ferdinand Marcos.

Analisa Hegyesi said that she was told when production company Shine Australia rang her on Monday to say she was no longer part of its planned Renovators show.

“I was chosen on my own merits but then I was dropped due to aspects of my private life which I will not discuss,” UK’s Daily Telegraph quoted her as saying.

“I was told there was a fear, too, attention would be paid to me and not the show and other contestants.”

A Shine insider told the Telegraph that staff thought it was harsh to drop her for “the sins of her father” who ruled the Philippines from 1965 to 1986 before he was deposed in a people’s revolution in 1986.

“A lot of people think it’s really unfair,” the source said.

Hegyesi was born in Australia to her mother Evelin, a former Sydney swimwear and Playboy model, who had a relationship with the late strongman in 1970 when she was only 19, according to a report from the Philippine Entertainment Portal. Around this time, Marcos was already married to Imelda, with whom he had three children—Imee, Bongbong and Irene.

Pep.ph said that Analisa’s real name is Analisa Josefa, with the second name coming from the mother of Marcos, Josefa Edralin Marcos. (FREEMAN)
