Cebuana makes it to "American Idol"
CEBU, Philippines - Monique de los Santos, who was born and raised in Cebu and Manila, made it to the Hollywood rounds of the hugely popular reality singing search “American Idol.” Also known in the local music industry as Monique Rae, she used to record under the label Polyeast Records with one album to her credit titled “Monique Rae, All up to me”.
She is the first Filipina (born and raised in the Philippines) who travelled halfway around the world to compete in the number 1 reality show in the world and to go that far in the Hollywood rounds.
The daughter of Cebuana music artist Eva Gulle-De Los Santos, Monique started her career in Cebu as early as seven years old where she played lead roles in stage plays and hosted local TV variety shows.
