USJ-R Dramatics presents Sister Act, the spoof musicale

CEBU, Philippines - The University of San Jose-Recoletos Dramatics and Cultural Ensemble Alumni and Lhuillier Scholars is set to present a spoof musicale of Sister Act 1 and 2 on Feb. 15, 2011 at the Center for Performing Arts, USJ-R Main Campus.

This musical is also in collaboration with the Speechcom International, Adelante Dance Troupe, Benedicto College and the USJ-R Arts and Sciences and Masscom Artist Circle, with the full support of USJ-R president, Fr. Enrico Peter Silab, CAS dean Teodie Dumam-ag and the religious and lay administrators.

The spoof musical, which offers free admission to Josenians and friends, also serves as the practicum of the participants of the theater workshop of the Dramatics and Cultural Ensemble (DCE), under director Dr. Mila C. Espina.

The play will also be shown at the Sisters of Mary - Girls in Talisay on Feb. 19, 2011, from 2pm-4pm, again free admission to some 3000 students of the school, who are part of the USJR-DCE Big Brother-Big Sister community/cultural program. Then, a special showing will be done at the Teatro Filipino at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino, as a gesture of appreciation to the group's scholarship benefactors, led by Ramon Sebastian of We Care, who is also the group's adviser; Zonta 1 and Amparito Lhuillier, founder and chair of the Amparito Llamas Lhuillier Educational Foundation.

USJ-R DCE has also been invited to participate in the Springville Worldfest in Utah, USA on July 24-31, 2011. (FREEMAN)
