The kiss that launched a thousand rumors
There are guys who kiss and tell. Well, you can consider Daniel Matsunaga as the kiss and sell sort. For days a video showing the Brazilian-Japanese hunk kissing a girl inside an elevator went viral on the Internet. Some people who saw the video were aghast that he would cheat on his girl, Heart Evangelista. Others were surprised that Heart was cool and composed despite the video.
Last week, Daniel himself exposed the “devious” plot”: the video was a gimmick to promote Veet, a hair-removing product, which he is endorsing.
“I apologize,” declared the actor/model at a presscon. “I hope everybody will understand, that this is just endorsement for Veet. This is just a teaser. Everything was just fake, you know? There was no kissing scene. In the end, it was just for the purpose of letting everybody know about it.”
No wonder Heart did not react to the video. She knew that it was a stunt all this time. Daniel explained that before he shot the video, “I asked for her permission, of course. And she said, ‘No, it’s fine.’ She knew it, her parents knew it also.”
Daniel said that when word about the video first spread, people were calling him, asking what was going on.
“And I was like, ‘What did I do?’ Like, ‘Oh, did you see the video? Check Facebook, Twitter.’ Wow, it came out.”
What surprised Daniel was the flood of negative comments generated by the video.
At the same time he admitted that he’s thrilled by the attention he’s been getting as a celeb. “All the screaming, and picture taking, and the many good friends I meet along the way, they are so overwhelming. I feel blessed.”
I guess that with the hefty talent fee as a Veet endorser, Daniel can now afford to take Heart on a lavish Valentine’s date. The buzz before was that he treated his girl friends to fastfood snacks because he was still strapped for cash.

Kylie Padilla has revealed that her stepdad, who hails from New Zealand, is the manager of a gas station in Australia.
He has two other kids from a previous relationship who live in New Zealand, according to the daughter of action star Robin Padilla.
Kylie recalls that when her mom Liezl Sicangco ang Robin split up, it did not come as a surprise to her anymore. She said that as early as 2007, she felt that something was not right between her parents.
The GMA Artist Center talent just turned 18, but instead of asking for a debutante’s ball, she settled for dinner with Robin, wife Mariel Rodriguez and sis Queenie.
Her birthday wish? Happiness for both her parents and their new families.
And what was Robin’s gift? Shopping money, Kylie said, without revealing the exact amount. She did give a ballpark figure of P50,000.
She and Queenie live in a condo and each get a P20,000 allowance from their dad.
Because Kylie is Muslim, she doesn’t wear short skirts or sleeveless blouses.

Girl talk. That’s what Ruffa Gutierrez and Shaina Magdayao engaged in during their “earth-shaking” conversation lately.
When girls chat, naturally they talk about guys. So Ruffa and Shaina talked about, who else, John Lloyd Cruz, according to Star Magic.
But is that all there is to it? Ruffa herself hinted there was much, much more than just girl talk. “Yes she called but I was half asleep next to my girls (hello it was 2am!) so I couldn’t talk. Simply told her that if she had a problem... to go ask JL not me,” read part of Ruffa’s text to “Tweetbiz” host Tim Yap.
Come to think of it, 2 a.m. isn’t quite the ideal time to chat. Hmm.
