Holiday tunes from Christian Bautista

Christian Bautista has just released A Wonderful Christmas, a CD collection of best-loved, traditional Yuletide tunes.

Comprising of 15 songs on the holiday season and released by Universal Records, the CD’s handsome and hardbound book type packaging makes the complete package, also a perfect gift to loved ones.

Inside is a veritable collector’s item — a 16-page, full color booklet, containing the lyrics of the 15 songs and several exclusive, never-been-seen photos of Christian.

Since he started his recording career, Christian has dreamed of coming out with an album like this. It also has a bonus track that everybody will appreciate — Christian’s own composition, “Christmas Time”. The album’s first single “Nakaraang Pasko” was also already made into a musical video, with actress Angelica Panganiban as his leading lady.

Since he started recording with Warner Music, Christian has already crossed musical borders with the phenomenal hit, “The Way You Look At Me”. He went to become a leading entertainer in Indonesia and other countries in the region.

Question: How does it feel to have your very first Christmas album?

Christian Bautista: “I recorded a few Christmas songs before, but yes, this is my first full Christmas album. A Christmas album is an album that’s meant for a lifetime. It’s a one shot deal. Most artists only have one. So I took it very seriously. I had to make it good.”

Q: How long was the preparation for the album?

Christian: “We searched for songs. We sifted the best ones. And we recorded the album in about 3 months.”

Q: Did you have a hand in choosing the songs in the album?

Christian: “Yes. Not just one hand in the album but both hands! I even wrote an original Christmas song.”

Q: What are your favorites in the album?

Christian: “My personal choices are The Christmas Song, Wonderful World, Christmas Shoes, the duet with Lisa Chan, Gift of Christmas, and Christmas Time!”

Q: What does Christmas mean to you?

Christian: “Christmas is a glorious reminder of the birth of Jesus.”

Q: What was your most memorable Christmas?

Christian: “When special friends surprised me in Cavite, not knowing they were coming to visit.”

Q: What was your happiest Christmas celebration?

Christian: “Almost all of my Christmases were happy ones!”

Q: What was your saddest Christmas?

Christian: “I do not think of sadness during Christmas. There are too many blessings to be joyful for.”

Q: If there’s a gift that you’d like to receive this season, what would it be and why?

Christian: “A Chevy Camaro. I wanna see it transform.”

Q: How do you usually spend your holidays?

Christian: “With family and friends in Cavite!”
