Sharon Cuneta considers 2010 as one of her best years
Megastar Sharon Cuneta considers 2010 as one of the best years in her career. She had her own magazine. She has a new show, Star Power, on ABS-CBN. She did a series of concerts abroad. By the end of January, she's going back to the United States for a new concert series.
The megastar threw a party for some members of the entertainment press last week and we were among the lucky ones invited to the strictly-by-invitation-only affair. As early as August, during the presscon for her concert, Sharon told her friends from the entertainment press that she'd like to meet with them and catch up. Some of these writers were already supporting her way back when she was in her teens and just starting her singing career. Sharon seldom throws a party but when she does, it's a fabulous one. The megastar raffled off many cash prizes, the biggest of which was P50,000 which was won by a photographer who had been regularly visiting her on the set of Sharon and now, Star Power. The movie writers went home with huge smiles on their faces as they brought home their prizes.
What gift did you ask from Senator Kiko Pangilinan?
"I did not ask a gift from him but he and his siblings inherited a piece of land in Nueva Ecija. We are saving up to turn our piece of that property into a farm. In fact, Kiko wants to have that piece of land converted into a farm. For myself, I am looking for a place to buy in a cool place like Batangas which I'd also like to turn into a farm land," said Sharon.
The last time Sharon met with the press was during the launch of her scent line from Zen Zest. Sharon had said then that she was set to meet with her Viva big boss Vic del Rosario for a possible movie project. This was going to be her comeback assignment with her former film studio. But she said that her planned meeting with Boss Vic would probably happen after Christmas.
"It's like a homecoming for me and it's really, really sweet. Boss Vic is excited to meet up with me. Although we have yet to talk, I heard that Boss Vic is very open for me to do just about anything - movies, concerts, shows even. Basta kung ano raw ang gusto ko. Hopefully when we meet, we can bring it up kung anuman 'yung iniisip niya for me," the megastar related.
Viva is reportedly interested to produce a big concert for Sharon, which they also plan to bring abroad. The megastar expressed excitement at doing the said project, or anything that would bring joy to her fans. "I miss my Viva family so much although we have been in touch naman. Like my Tita Baby (Gil, the top PR person of Viva). Even if she's already a boss, she still takes care of me. They are my friends who are tried and tested. Lagi pa rin silang nandiyan."
It's going to be a happy Christmas for Sharon since all the intrigas are gone and all those "tampuhan" and "sama ng loob" are deemed forgotten, like that issue with Aga Muhlach.
"We have talked na (Aga and I). Naayos na naman ang issue. After that hindi na kami nag-keep in touch. So kahit na hindi na kami gumawa ng movie, okay na ako, Merry Christmas. Ang importante ay nagka-usap na kami at okay na iyon," she said.
"Lumaki lang talaga ang tampuhan kahit na hindi dapat. Naintindihan naman daw niya (Aga) ang nangyari. Hindi naman daw siya napikon or nagtampo. As for the movie that we were supposed to do, okay with me to do it. Basta ang importante ay maganda ang istorya. If the story would fit us, why not? But if the story would be suited for another leading man like Gabby (Concepcion) or Richard Gomez, then it's something to consider also.
"There are still other projects that I dream of doing like the one with Ate Vi (Governor Vilma Santos) or one with KC (Concepcion), I'd be most welcome. I don't know when I could do that project with KC but the movie with Ate Vi ay matagal nang plano. But Star Cinema wants it to be more special kaya they are on a lookout for a real good story," added Sharon.
