We thought it was just one of those unfounded rumors that talent manager Shirley Kuan has parted ways with her ward, KC Concepcion. But now it seems to be true. Mamu SK (as we fondly refer to the talent manager having worked with her as publicist of Donna Cruz when she was still handling the singer's career), however, chose to remain silent over the reason why she and KC cut ties.
Someone close to her said that in due time SK would speak and reveal the details of the breakdown of her relationship with Sharon Cuneta's eldest daughter. We sent her a text message when we got wind of the rumor, but true to her word that she has kept quiet as we didn't get a response from her.
And this was very unusual for her since Shirley Kuan is one very efficient manager when it comes to answering inquires from press people. But we respect her decision to keep quiet. We will just wait for the time when the famed talent manager, who also han-dles the careers of Albert Martinez and Claudine Barretto, among others, would finally speak and bare all.
For sure, even from KC's end, we surmise that she would also keep mum about the matter. Even if we happen to bump into KC (which might be close to impossible), it is unlikely that she will say something in deference to her former manager.
If we know Mamu SK, there must be a really compelling and valid reason why she de-cided to drop her services as KC's manager. We know how much attention she gives all her talents, having witnessed that when we once worked as Donna's publicist until the time she got married to Cebuano doctor Yong Larrazabal. Even up to now, Mamu SK still acts as Donna's manager.
We don't want to speculate as to the possible reasons why KC and her manager severed their ties. We will just wait for SK's statement. We feel sad nevertheless that their part-nership has ended but if it is for their peace of mind, we'd rather not to think of the nega-tive aspect of their parting. Here's wishing KC good luck in all of her future undertakings under a new manager. And for SK, may she continue with her work as a no-nonsense manager as always.

Bubble Gang is one of the pioneering shows of GMA 7 and it is very inspiring to note that it has survived competition and continues to hold sway in the last 15 years.
According to Rufa Mae Quinto, with whom we got to talk to at the anniversary press-con of the show, she didn't imagine the show would last that long on the air. "I also con-sider Bubble Gang important and memorable for me because this show gave me recogni-tion as an actress," having won two acting awards.
Aside from this, a number of mainstays of Bubble Gang had left the show but Rufa Mae has survived the test of time. Of the original female mainstays, Rufa can be consid-ered as one of the longest-staying cast members since in the 15 years of Bubble Gang, she had been a part of it for 10 years.
For its 15th anniversary offering of Bubble Gang, the cast is presenting an episode featur-ing the young stars as well as the members of its adult cast.
