Grandest Lights and Sounds Show Opens 2010 San Miguel Oktoberfest

CEBU, Philippines - San Miguel Brewery Inc. recently welcomed the world’s most popular beer festival with the most ambitious lights and sounds show in the country, on top of the hottest live acts, exciting games and endless flow of all our favorite San Miguel Beer brands.

The much-anticipated San Miguel Oktoberfest kicked off first in Metro Manila at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds. Event sponsor Microtel Mall of Asia served as the actual projector venue of a series of 11 audio-visual presentations harnessing the same technology used in New York, Paris, London, Sydney and Tokyo.

Parokya ni Edgar, The Dawn, Freestyle, Slapshock, Mayonnaise and Spongecola headlined the opening night together with Bloom Brothers, Gloc 9, Manoeuvers, Philippine All Star Dancers, Mocha Girls and Kitty Girls.

SMB president Roberto N. Huang led the ceremonial toast, together with officials from the Department of Tourism and Pasay City Mayor’s Office.

Also joining the festivities were SMB endorsers Dingdong Dantes, Marian Rivera, Isabel Daza, Georgina Wilson, Derek Ramsay, Django Bustamante, Efren “Bata” Reyes and the San Miguel Beermen PBA cagers.

The San Miguel Oktoberfest also kicked off at Paseo de Sta. Rosa in Greenfield City, Laguna, SM City Davao, Robinsons Starmills Pampanga, and at Parkmall Cebu with sustaining parties held in 15 key cities nationwide.

All of San Miguel’s 8 multiple award-winning beer brands, plus the limited edition San Miguel Oktoberfest Beer or “Oktobrew,” the first-ever all-malt, low alcohol beer, were offered in all San Miguel Oktoberfest parties.

Apart from the trademark big parties, SMB has prepared various surprises to extend the Oktoberfest experience.
