"Pilipinas, Win na Win" still missing on the right mix
It seemed rather unthinkable or far-fetched that Kris Aquino would be asked to leave “Pilipinas, Win Na Win” to give way to a new set of hosts.
But that was what really happened on Tuesday as ABS-CBN issued a press statement, saying that Kris is leaving “Pilipinas, Win na Win” and her final day as host would be today, Oct. 1. According to the statement, it was the decision of the management to experiment by getting a new set of hosts to take over the hosting duties of “Pilipinas, Win na Win” which occupied the time slot vacated by the controversial show “Wowowee” of Willie Revillame.
Taking the reins as new hosts of the game show are Rico J. Puno, Rey Valera, Marco Sison and Nonoy Zuñiga, collectively known as “The Hitmakers.” Joining the OPM legends are the remaining original hosts of the embattled program, namely Pokwang and Valerie Concepcion, on Saturday, Oct. 2.
It was Kris who posted it on her Twitter account that she didn’t resign from the show but was “asked to leave” to give way to the OPM legends.
After being booted out of “Wowowee”, ABS-CBN is still searching for the right mix that would make their noontime block as appetizing (if not profitable) for their regular viewers who were definitely fans of “Wowowee” and possibly, Willie. The question now is will Rico, Rey, Marco and Nonoy be able to do something that Kris was unable to do? That is, to improve the ratings of “Pilipinas, Win na Win” that is being soundly beaten by “Eat Bulaga,” the longest-running noontime show on Philippine TV history?
And in case Rico and the rest of the Hitmakers would be unable to do something to make “Pilipinas, Win na Win” click, would ABS-CBN change hosts again?

DJ Mo Twister says he and Rhian Ramos were never an item. They are just friends and nothing more despite rumors claiming otherwise.
DJ Mo adds that how can Rhian fall for him when he’s not good-looking and is not tall either? Besides, how can the people say that he and Rhian broke up when they were never on?
But in case you forgot, Rhian and JC De Vera also denied that they were on. But later on, bits and pieces of juicy items surfaced, giving credence to the rumor that Rhian and JC were indeed an item. Will the same thing happen for DJ Mo and Rhian? Let’s just wait and see.

Now showing in theaters is the much-touted gay love story titled “Tarima” which features Fanny Serrano and newcomer Rocky Salumbides. The movie, which had a grand premiere night at the CCP Main Theater and was also screened at the UP Film Center, is directed by Neal “Buboy” Tan.
In an interview with Fanny, he said that because of “Tarima,” he temporarily gave up his beauty regimen. He refused to have his nails manicured, and he also stopped dyeing his hair so that he would be believable in his role as a gay who had forsaken his looks because of his strict grandma (played by Ms. Gloria Romero).
Fanny’s performance, same with Tita Gloria and Rocky, drew praise when “Tarima” had previews for the entertainment press. “Tarima” might finally give Fanny that much coveted acting award that he is hoping for.
Here are two comments that Fanny received from his work in “Tarima.” From ABS-CBN president no less, Ms. Charo Santos Concio who said:
“Congratulations, Fanny Serrano, on this most important project Tarima. I must say your performance is great. You’ve come a long way since our MMK days and I am so proud of you!”
This one came from Lorna Tolentino: “Congratulations, TF! Maganda ang Tarima! Siyempre, magaling ka at si Tita Gloria Romero. Good luck for the future international screenings!
