"Legend of the guardians" Now in imax

CEBU, Philippines - The fantasy-adventure movie "Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole" is now showing in IMAX 3D. Check out acclaimed filmmaker Zack Snyder's animation debut that is based on the beloved books by Kathryn Lasky.

The story of the "Legend of the Guardians" evolves around Soren, a barn owl who is also the main protagonist of the story. The film follows Soren (voice of Jim Sturgess), a young owl enthralled by his father's epic stories of the Guardians of Ga' Hoole, a mythic band of winged warriors who had fought a great battle to save all of owlkind from the evil Pure Ones. When Soren and his brother Kludd (voice of Ryan Kwanten) are snatched up by the Pure Ones-evil owls who want to conquer those who are not of their "elite" tyto type and to make soldiers out of the ones who are-Soren holds out hope that his heroes not only exist, but that he can find them and enlist their aid in saving all of owlkind.

The film is based on Guardians of Ga'Hoole, an epic fantasy book series written by Kathryn Lasky and published by Scholastic. The series which ended in 2008 with the publication of The War of the Ember has a total of 15 books. Apart from the main series, there are a few more books and spin offs set in the same universe. The first three books of the series make up the newly released animated 3D film "Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole."
