Krista Ranillo Settles Down

-

CEBU, Philippines - It looks like controversial actress Krista Ranillo is saying goodbye to showbiz for good as she has chosen to settle down with her Filipino-American beau. Krista exchanged “I dos” with a US supermarket chain CEO named Jefferson Nino Lim at a very private Jewish-interfaith ceremony held at the Hotel Maya in Long Beach, California, at 5 p.m. last Sunday, Aug. 8.

According to a report by The Philippine Star’s entertainment editor Ricky Lo, the wedding, officiated by a rabbi, was said to be ceremonial because the couple were already married in civil rights several weeks earlier in July. The two are also expecting their first child together due April of next year.

Present at the wedding were Krista’s parents, Mat Ranillo III and Lynda Tupaz, and a few family friends that included actress Jessica Rodriguez, who acted as bridge between Krista and Nino, and her husband David Bunevacz. The wedding was such a private and secret affair that even Krista’s grandmother, the Queen of Visayan movies, Ms. Gloria Sevilla, did not know about it, the STAR said yesterday.

In previous interviews, Krista said that Lim was a childhood sweetheart and they got back together when they met in the US again several months ago, when she flew there to avoid the media frenzy over her alleged affair with boxing champ Manny Pacquiao.

The hubby is the CEO of the Island Pacific chain of supermarkets in L.A. and is said to be a friend of Pacquiao’s. He has been linked to actress Antoinette Taus and was once engaged to former sportscaster Janelle So. This is the second marriage of Lim, according to media reports.

Krista’s wedding and decision to settle down is expected to put to rest rumors linking her to Pacquiao, which became tabloid fodder last year.

Pacquiao, now Sarangani congressman, had told media last week that he wishes them well. “At least wala nang masasabi ang mga tao na may relasyon kaming dalawa. Pero at least, tapos na ‘yon. Masaya ako para sa kanya. Hindi pa naman kami nag-uusap. Masaya ako kung saan siya masaya.”

The newlyweds are reportedly planning to have a bigger church wedding maybe before end of this year, and whether this will be is US or in the Philippines, that still remains to be seen. (With a report from The Philippine Star News Service)
