Venus Raj's Quest for Miss U Crown off to a Good Start

CEBU, Philippines - 2010 Bb. Pilipinas-Universe Maria Venus Raj (photo) is leaving tomorrow, Aug. 4, for Las Vegas to compete with more than 80 beauties from all over the world in the 58th Miss Universe Pageant. Raj has caught media attention more than any of her immediate predecessors after she was dethroned just a few days after she was named Bb. Pilipinas Universe in March, then famously worked to reclaim her title only weeks after—the first reinstatement in the history of the country’s biggest beauty pageant.

Now her campaign for the Miss U crown is off to a good start as according to the latest report, Venus tops the Miss Universe organization survey with a 3.19 rating.

The nine others in the Top 10 are Miss Venezuela Marelissa Gibson, 2.96; Miss Mexico Jimena Navarrete, 2.90; Miss Colombia Natalia Navarro, 2.90; Miss Indonesia Qory Sandioriva, 2.88; Miss USA Rima Fakih, 2.86; Miss Brazil Debora Lyra, 2.72; Miss Canada Elena Semikina, 2.66; Miss Russia Irina Antonenko, 2.65; and Miss Curacao Safira de Wit, 2.64.
