Phillip Salvador gets Emotional on the subject of son Josh

CEBU, Philippines - Actor Phillip Salvador got emotional when asked about Josh, his lovechild with TV host and presidential sister Kris Aquino, during his guesting on last Sunday’s Paparazzi, the showbiz news oriented program of TV 5.

His voice cracked as he tried to reign in his emotions while answering the question what he misses about his son, who lives with Kris.

“Iyong yakap ng anak ko,” he told Paparazzi host Cristy Fermin. “Iyong bonding... pero next question, thank you.”

He admitted to seeing Josh recently, saying “Oo, oo, nagkita kami, nagkita kami, pati si (Sen.) Bong Revilla, na-shock, e! Pagyakap sa akin, natakpan ako, e, natakpan ako!

When asked, however, if he sees his son regularly, he clammed up: “Ah… next question!”

“Ah, ano na lang, kung puwede huwag na lang nating pag-usapan iyan, iyan na lang ang ire-request ko sa iyo... Pag tungkol kay Josh, sa aming dalawa na lang,” added Salvador.

The action star, nevertheless, is all praises for the way Kris has been raising Josh.

He said, “I just want the world to know that Kris is a very good mother, she’s a very good mother.”

Asked for his thoughts on the marital problems that Kris is going through with husband James Yap, he said, “Sa totoo lang, the honest truth, kami ni Emma [Ledesma, his wife], ipinagdarasal namin sila kasi ayaw namin... ng kahit na sino na may ganung sitwasyon. Ang totoo, nalulungkot kami.

“Mahaba na ang itinakbo ng relasyon nila, ang dami na nilang bagyong pinagdaanan. Pero nasa kanila pa rin ‘yan.”
