Siomai vendor is first Pilipinas Got Talent grand winner
CEBU, Philippines - Batangueño singer turned YouTube sensation Jovit Baldivino bagged the grand prize in the nationwide talent show Pilipinas Got Talent. The ABS-CBN talent-reality show held the performance night last June 12 and released results last June 13, at the Araneta Coliseum.
The former siomai vendor, who performed Queen’s “Too Much Love Will Kill You,” took home the cash prize of P2 million, after receiving 47.74 percent of the total votes.
Breakdancers Velasco Brothers and dance group Baguio Metamorphosis were the runners-up, winning P100,000 each.
The other finalists each received P50,000. These included ventriloquist Ruther Urquia, magician Allan “Alakim” De Paz, Fil-Norwegian crooner Markki Stroem, guitarist Keith Delleva, the Ezra Band, balladeer Sherwin Baguion, chorale group Luntayao Family, violinist Jeline Oliva, and Broadway singer Ingrid Payaket.
