Iza Calzado, Eugene Domingo win their 1st Best Actress honors at Golden Screen Awards

Iza Calzado and Eugene Domingo won their first Best Actress trophies from the 7th Golden Screen Awards held Wednesday night at Teatrino Greenhills. The event was hosted by Ogie Alcasid.

Iza won for her role as the activist in Dukot, while Eugene won for her role as the identical twins Kimmy and Dora in Kimmy Dora.

Coco Martin was named Best Actor (Drama) for his role of a young man who was exposed to a harrowing experience that would haunt him in Kinatay, while Roderick Paulate won for his role as the gay sibling in Ded Na Si Lolo.

Maria Isabel Lopez won Best Supporting Actress for Kinatay, while Dennis Trillo won for his role as the scheming boyfriend in Mano Po 6.

Kinatay was named Best Picture (Drama), while Ded Na Si Lolo was voted Best Picture (comedy).

Brillante Mendoza won his first Golden Screen Awards Best Director trophy for Kinatay, which also won for him the Best Director trophy at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival last year. This is Direk Dante’s second award in a week’s time, having won the same award at the Urian Awards last week.

Best Cinematography - Odyssey Flores (Lola)

Best Production Design - Richard Somes (Ang Panday)

Best Editing - Kats Serraon (Kinatay)

Best Musical Score - Von de Guzman (Ang Panday)

Best Sound - Albert Michael Idioma (Kinatay)

Best Visual Effects - Jay Santiago (Ang Panday)
