CEBU, Philippines - Singer-actress Pinky Marquez and crooner Chad Borja are slated to perform on January 17, beginning 6pm, in an event that brings to focus the best of Cebu at the Northwing Atrium of SM City Cebu.
Watch the performance of Pinky Marquez as she sings OPM favorites. Marquez has maintained an enviable record as an artist, with career highlights such as her participation in the star-studded 1988 "PILIPINO MUNA!" ("Filipino First") ad campaign, where top music artists -- APO Hiking Society, Janet Basco, Lea Salonga, Robert Seña, Mitch Valdez, Rey Valera, Nonoy Zuñiga, and more — sang a Ryan Cayabyab original in the said unprecedented TV ad.
As a thespian, she has starred in different theatrical productions including Torre's longest-running "MAGNIFICAT" and "ANG BAGONG BITUIN"; Anton Juan's "OEDIPUS REX" (UP, 2002) and "PORTRAIT OF A FILIPINO AS AN ARTIST" (CCP, 2002), and Rita Asilo's "THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES" (2001).
Chad Borja, on the other hand, has recorded many hit songs including “Ikaw Lang”. He was also able to do recordings with big U.S. stars like Lani Hall and Kevyn Lettau.
The Sinulog Queens will also take the center stage at The Northwing as they showcase their colorful costumes in a fashion show directed by Engr. Junjet Primor this January 14 at 6pm.
Cebu’s very own multi-awarded University of the Visayas Chorale will perform on January 15, 2010 at 6pm. The choir will present a wide-ranging repertoire of famed choral works, to spirituals, to folk songs, to pop and contemporary numbers. Lourdes Parish Rondalla will also perform on January 16 at 6pm.
