Mar-Korina honeymoon on twitter

-

Sen. Mar Roxas has taken to the micro-blogging site Twitter to give his “followers” a “blow-by-blow” account of the first of his two honeymoons with new wife, popular broadcaster Korina Sanchez. The couple, who wed last October 27 after five years of being together, are in Japan for a week, and will have their second honeymoon in Europe this December.

Checking into their flight for Japan last October 29, Roxas immediately tweeted through his mobile phone: “Excited to check-in airport as Mr. and Mrs. Reminder: have to update paperwork, travel docs to reflect new status.”

Then, the minute they landed in Japan a few hours later, Roxas tweeted: “Just landed…on time. Crew surprised K and me with a small cake. Very sweet gesture. Off to customs and immigration.”

After filling up their empty stomachs with traditional Japanese food for dinner and listening to the resto’s jazz playing, Roxas then tweeted again: “Finally after nearly 10hrs door to door, we’re in the hotel, bellboy has left. We can now explore all the buttons, gadgets and movies in the room.”

The second day of honeymoon included more food sessions, city exploring and ample observations of local culture. This time, Mrs. Roxas tweeted on her husband’s twitter account: “This is K. I love Japan! I can’t believe it. He’s my husband!!! We’re walking holding hands na bahala na kung saan kami mapadpad.”

Then, in between bowls of ramen and soba, Sen. Roxas couldn’t help but note the “expensive food” in Japan. He tweeted: “Everything here so expensive. 1 coke equals 6 USD or nearly 300 pesos. Naghati na lang kami para tig 150 ang inum, hahaha!”

He also made light of how “militant” Japan is against H1N1: “My dry cough is not going away & nahahawa na si K. We fear H1N1 police may come and pick us up anytime, haha.”

Of course, since they are on their honeymoon, Roxas made sure to tweet that they didn’t forget to snuggle: “K and I sitting by rose garden watching birds feed. Temperature mas malamig kesa Baguio but we’re warmed by the sun... and siksikan kami.”

Mar, 52, and Korina, 45 married October 27 at the Sto. Domingo Church after a very rollercoaster last few months that included the senator giving up on his plans to run for president come 2010, typhoon Ondoy, and some speculations that their wedding wasn’t going to push through.
