After Pacman, Ara linked to Sec. Puno

CEBU, Philippines - Ara Mina is wondering why she had been linked to DILG Secretary Ronaldo Puno. The actress learned that the said item has been circulated via text messages and she has an idea who could be behind the move. She said those damaging text messages should not be taken seriously.

The actress surmised that the text message had something to do with her helping Rochelle Barrameda regarding the case of her sister.

“She asked me if I could help her find someone who can help her with the case of her sister. I talked to my dad regarding this. But it was not only Sec. Puno whom we endorsed to Rochelle. We won’t mention the names of the people whom we approached. But it was Rochelle who talked to Sec. Puno. I just acted as a sort of go-between so she could get some assistance. Pero ang babaw naman na dahilan kung dahil lang dito ili-link nila ako kay Sec. Puno. After hindi mag-click na i-link nila ako uli kay Manny Pacquiao, kay Sec. Puno naman. Sabi ko nga, bakit hindi na lang nila ako sundan o kaya i-surveillance,” said Ara.

“I just wanted to help tapos this is what happens. I sure hope they don’t link me with anyone of the Jimenezes,” said Ara, who’s playing a mean role in “Tinik Sa Dibdib,” her latest drama assignment under GMA 7. She reprises the role played by Pilar Pilapil in the film version directed by Leroy Salvador. Playing the lead role in the series is Sunshine Dizon, with Marvin Agustin as leading man.

The actress also revealed that she’s thinking of running for councilor in the second district of Quezon City next year. She had been asked to seek public office since 2004 by her dad although Ara said her possible entry to politics has to have the consent of her entire family. When told that politics could be chaotic, Ara said showbiz could also be chaotic. But as a showbiz personality, Ara had also extended help to some people via her foundation that is supporting kids afflicted with down’s syndrome.

“Masarap din naman ang feeling na nakakatulong since I also do it in own little way as a showbiz personality but I believe mas marami kang matutulungan when you hold a public office that’s why I am really thinking about running in next year’s elections,” said Ara.

She’s now preparing for a benefit concert to help raise funds for a young kid who needs to undergo an operation. Last year, she also did a concert to raise funds for a kid who needs a ventilator for his illness.
