THIS IS TECHNO: The Sound Of Cebu Afterdark

CEBU, Philippines - It’s defined as ‘an expression of technological spirituality’ and commonly confused with electronic music and dance music. The rest of the world calls it ‘techno.’ We call it ‘the sound of Cebu afterdark.’

This September 19, the region’s premier party destination and first superclub, Loft Restaurant & Lounge (The LOFT), will welcome the city’s new sound with ‘This is Techno: The Sound of Cebu Afterdark.’

‘This is Techno’ will be top-billed by two of the country’s leaders in the underground clubbing scene, DJs Pav Parrote and Martin Lugtu. Pav and Martin are of Warehouse 135 fame, the club which, during its duration, took Manila by storm with its purely underground climate.

In line with the definition of ‘afterdark’ as ‘music intended for an older, more mature House-music-listening audience,’ Pav summarizes the event’s repertoire, “Expect a sound that is intelligent and new, but mature in nature. It’s euphoric without having to lose all your inhibitions.”

Pav adds, “With the continuous evolution of the genre, techno is the new house.” And the new sound of Cebu afterdark.

‘This is Techno: The Sound of Cebu Afterdark’ takes place at The LOFT’s new wing, The Penthouse. Doors open at 10PM.
