"The Ugly Truth" holds sneak previews sept 21, 22

-

CEBU, Philippines - Columbia Pictures’ sizzling comedy “The Ugly Truth” starring Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler will have whole-day sneak previews on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 21 & 22, in selected theaters everywhere.

In the film, Abby Richter (Heigl) is a romantically challenged morning show producer whose search for Mr. Perfect has left her hopelessly single. She's in for a rude awakening when her bosses team her with Mike Chadway ( Butler), a hardcore TV personality who promises to spill the ugly truth on what makes men and women tick.

Abby is reluctantly embroiled in a series of outrageous tests by Mike to prove his theories on relationships and help her find love. His clever ploys, however, lead to an unexpected result.

“The film’s concept was hilarious and topical and we felt audiences would greatly enjoy the battle between these two characters,” says producer Gary Lucchesi. “The story has a lot of fun with how men perceive women and how women are aghast by it, and vice versa, which makes for a terrific date picture. We felt it could be a modern update of the classic comedy where you have two charismatic stars butting up against each other in very funny ways.”

Opening across the Philippines on Sept. 30, “The Ugly Truth” is distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International. Visit www.sonypictures.com.ph to see the latest trailers, get free downloads and play free movie games.
