Darna at SM City Cebu

CEBU, Philippines - “Darna Fever” comes to Cebu as GMA Network’s Queen of Primetime Marian Rivera leads the line-up of Kapuso Stars at the Entertainment Plaza of SM City Cebu on August 29.

Dubbed, Kapuso Kalingawan featuring DARNA, the mall show is GMA Network’s way of thanking Cebuano fans and viewers for helping Darna become the number one TV program nationwide.

Marian will be joined in the event by Mark Anthony Fernandez, who plays Eduardo - Narda’s love interest in the series; Nadine Samonte and Iwa Moto, who play Babaeng Impakta and Valentina, respectively.

Based on the National Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM) data from AGB Nielsen Philippines from August 9 to 15, Darna beat all programs nationwide and took the number one spot with an average TV rating of 35.6%. Darna’s audience share reached 47.3%, which translates to more than 2.7 million projected number of TV households.

The series, originally created for comics by Mars Ravelo, premiered last August 10 on GMA Telebabad. Darna’s pilot episode posted a TV rating of 44% in Mega Manila. Since then, Darna has been posting more than 40% TV ratings in most days, almost double the TV ratings being generated by its competing program.

The show posted its highest TV rating in Mega Manila of 47.5% last August 18, when Narda became Darna for the first time. 

Kapuso Kalingawan featuring DARNA will start at 4 p.m. with sponsor’s booths and games. The program will be hosted by Kapuso celebrities Yurri and Anna Maris Igpit, who will also facilitate the games.

The unique chance for fans and viewers to see Darna in the flesh happens this Saturday at the Entertainment Plaza of SM City Cebu.
