Can Bea Alonzo carry her own movie even without her favorite leading man and the box-office king twice-over John Lloyd Cruz as screen partner?
That will be answered as Bea’s latest film under Star Cinema titled “And I Love You So” opened last Wednesday in more than a hundred theaters nationwide. The movie features Bea with her new screen partners Sam Milby and Derek Ramsay.
“Siyempre excited ako sa project na ito,” said Bea who went daring in this project by wearing a two-piece swimsuit. “Bilang isang aktres, I think I am more confident now kaya nga pumayag akong mag-bathing suit. Isa pa, I really feel a certain kind of excitement in this film.”
When she learned about the story of “And I Love You So” from the writers themselves, Bea told herself she’s interested to do this love story and play the female lead. She also added that she was able to relate to the story and she felt the role was really meant for her.
The movie is directed by Laurenti Dyogi and also stars Ms. Coney Reyes and Candy Pangilinan.

We attended the press conference of Lady Gaga last Monday held at EDSA Plaza Hotel but we could no longer wait for her as we had to go to another appointment. Would you believe the press members waited for her for almost three hours? We left after waiting for two hours because we had to leave for the presscon of Jinkee Pacquiao in another venue.
According to a person involved in the local production of Lady Gaga’s concert at the Araneta Coliseum, the flight of Lady Gaga to the Philippines got delayed. She was flying in from Korea where she performed in a concert as part of her tour. She got into Manila at around noontime and her hectic schedule caused the delay in her media appearance. Truth to tell, according to our source, after her Manila concert, Lady Gaga would only have around two hours of sleep then she and her entourage would fly to Singapore for another show.
Anyway, a scene stealer in the press conference of Lady Gaga was actress and MTV Asia VJ Anne Curtis. She got the attention of the press photographers because of the skirt that she was wearing.

From EDSA Plaza Hotel, we went straight to the presscon of Jinkee Pacquiao at Dolce Bar in Tomas Morato. The better half of boxing champ Manny Pacquiao was launched as one of the newest endorsers of the Belo Medical Group. We had the chance to interview Jinkee who expressed elation that she was taken in as endorser by Dra. Victoria Belo.
She admitted trying one of the procedures being done by the Belo Clinic to rid herself of unwanted fat after she gave birth to her daughter Princess. She was satisfied with the result and underwent the procedure again after she gave birth to her fourth child, Queen Elizabeth.
When she was asked if Manny is indeed entering politics anew, Jinkee answered yes, but she added that her husband is still weighing his options as to what position he would run for—whether as a mayor, congressman, or as Party List representative.
Even if Manny failed in his bid in 2007 when he ran as congressman in General Santos City but lost to the incumbent, Jinkee said she supports her husband’s political career.
She is also happy for her mother-in-law, Mommy Dionisia who also now has a career in showbiz. Jinkee added that the press should not make her and Mommy Dionisia look as if they are fighting and not in good terms because in truth they get along very well.
When asked if she would also be willing to enter the movies, Jinkee said no. She’d rather do occasional TV guest stints. She likes doing commercials because it’s not as time consuming compared to doing a TV show or a movie. She fears she might neglect the needs of her children if she would embark on a career in showbiz. For the time being, doing commercials like this one for the Belo Medical Group would suffice.
