More names dragged into Hayden Kho controversy

SHOWBIZ DRIBBLE - Salve V. Asis -

Did David Carradine kill himself? Or was he assassinated by a secret association of kung fu fanatics? Nobody knows for sure as yet. The 73-year-old actor was found dead in his hotel room in Bangkok on June 4, but it wasn’t a few days later when details of the incident began to surface.

The star of popular 70s TV series Kung Fu and the Kill Bill films was said to be wearing a wig and fishnet stockings when his body was found inside a closet. His neck, hands and genitals were tied with cords, and the initial theory is that he hanged himself.

Later there was speculation that Carradine died of autoerotic asphyxiation, a condition in which the victim tries to find sexual satisfaction by choking himself to the point of near death.

The actor’s family, however, believes somebody had killed him. They said the evidence suggests that there was someone else in the room with Carradine just before or during the time of his death.

“How do you get a rope around your neck and around your genitals by yourself?” Carradine’s manager was quoted by ABC News as asking. “My take is there was definitely foul play. There’s a lot of weird stuff that happens in Bangkok. This isn’t LA or New York.”

According to the family, Carradine had been targeted for assassination by a shadowy group of kung fu practitioners whose activities he had threatened to expose.

For weeks, the buzz was that there was also a video of KC Concepcion and Dr. Hayden Kho circulating in the Internet. The rumors were so persistent that the Belo Medical Group had to come out with a statement. The firm had to react because the video was supposedly shot while KC was having a body scrub at a Belo clinic.

According to the Belo group, the actress, daughter of superstar Sharon Cuneta, had never been treated in any of its clinics. And as a policy, the group never uses any video or audio device to record its patients’ activities.

KC meanwhile is not issuing a reaction to the video rumors. According to her manager, the actress doesn’t want to dignify the reports “with any kind of response.”

KC is not about to return to the country just yet. After accompanying her mom on Sharon’s Mega Thirty Concert US Tour, KC is flying on to Europe to be the bridesmaid in one of her best friends’ wedding.

Still on the sex video scandal, showbiz columnist Lolit Solis has made it clear that she is not the publicist of Katrina Halili. Lately, Tita Lolit has become a hot news source for the latest on the sordid affair. But she clarifies that she helped arrange the press conference for Katrina as a favor for her manager Rommel Gacho, “who is like a son to me.”

Tita Lolit also insists that she and Dr. Vicki Belo are still friends despite the scandal. “Dr. Belo knows that whatever happens I will still support her,” Tita Lolit says.

Dr. Belo was among the respondents in the complaint of violations of the law on violence against women and children filed in Katrina’s behalf by the Department of Justice. Her co-respondents are Kho and his former buddies, Doctors Erick Johnston Chua and Mark Herbert Rosario.

The preliminary investigation of the complaint is on June 19.

Last week it was the turn of Dr. Rosario to air his side of the story on the evening news. He denied that he had something to do with uploading of the Katrina-Hayden videos to the internet. He also said that he has forgiven Hayden for dragging him into the controversy and for having a fling with his girl friend.
