Vicki Belo, Hayden Kho reconciliation confirmed

Love triumphs over everything. That seems to hold true for Doctors Vicki Belo and Hayden Kho. After a messy split-up over revelations that Hayden had cheated on the celebrity cosmetic surgeon, the two are back in each other’s arms.

Doc Vicki has obviously forgiven him for his transgressions. According to Tita Lolit Solis, they are now in Japan for some quality time together. Tita Lolit says that before Vicki left, she confided that she loves Hayden very much.

Just when news that the two were together again, a video of Hayden in briefs dancing to the tune of Careless Whisper before actress Katrina Halili began to appear in YouTube and other websites. The timing of the appearance of the video has me wondering. Is it just coincidence, or is the video’s release the handiwork of someone who is out to prevent Hayden and Vicki from reuniting?

Ruffa Gutierrez has gone to court to gain custody of her two kids, Loren, 5 and Venice, 4. Last week, Ruffa filed a custody case with the Quezon City Regional Trial Court, naming as respondent her ex, Turkish businessman Yilmaz Bektas.

The court has sent a summons to Yilmaz’s address in Istanbul.

Ruffa and Yilmaz were married in March 2003 at The Fort in Taguig after a fairy-tale romance. The marriage became rocky after only a few years, with Ruffa hinting that Yilmaz had in fits of anger beaten her up.

In May 2007, the couple announced that they were separating. Ruffa flew home to Manila with her children and revived her showbiz career.

Up until now, Ruffa has not filed for annulment, sparking speculations that she was still hoping the marriage could be saved.

But with the filing of the custody case, she is making it clear that she has closed the door on reconciliation.

The movie Best Friends Forever would be best remembered for its final scene. That’s because if only for a fleeting moment it reunites the love team of the 70s, Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion. Sharon stars in the comedy offering of Star Cinema along with AiAi delas Alas. Gabby was making a less than a minute, non-speaking cameo appearance.

Did the former couple hobnob during the shooting for the scene? Unfortunately not. Shawie was reportedly too busy while Gabby was doing his takes. After the scene was finished, Gabby left abruptly.

He was also a no-show at the premiere of the movie last week, although their daughter KC Concepcion attended.

With Manny Pacquiao’s mom, Aling Dionisia, stepping into the limelight after the triumph of her son over Ricky Hatton in Las Vegas two weeks ago, some showbiz commentators think they have the license to make fun of her supposedly unsophisticated background. During a phone patch interview with Aling Dionesia, one radio host couldn’t help but ask her to spell Louis Vuitton, referring to the expensive handbag her son had bought her. Fortunately the topic shifted before the host could lock in on the question. That was totally uncalled for. The host should be reprimanded for the not-so-subtle slur.

TV fans of Farrah Fawcett will remember her as the Charlie’s Angels star with the drop-dead body and leonine blond hair.

Last week, a documentary on NBC television showed a totally different Farrah – a woman trying to hang on despite a losing battle against cancer.

Farrah’s Story is a 90-minute video diary of the 62-year-old actress’ long struggle with the disease, a fight that is coming to an end. She was diagnosed with anal cancer and in recent weeks has been bedridden and heavily medicated, reports Reuters.

In 2007, when the cancer reached her liver, Farrah showed she wanted to fight it out. “I do not want to die of this disease. I want to stay alive. So I say to God ... it is seriously time for a miracle,” she was quoted as saying.

According to Reuters, her long-time companion, actor Ryan O’Neal, Farrah wanted to share her cancer journey with the public — on her own terms.
