Who's the first Cebu Gintong Galing winner?
CEBU, Philippines - The Western Union Company, a global leader in money transfer services has successfully selected the top five contestants in the Gintong Galing Talent Search.
Out of the 36 Gintong Galing hopefuls, who patiently lined up during the audition, only five remained and have the once-in-a-lifetime chance of sharing the spotlight with some of the country’s top performers — Jericho Rosales, Christian Bautista, and Yeng Constantino, at a Western Union-sponsored concert on May 16 at the Cebu Waterfront Hotel Lahug and win a cash prize of up to P100,000.
The audition day was indeed a day of talents as all contestants showcased their golden talents in singing, dancing, bartending, fire dancing, cheerdancing and even stand up comedy.
The judges, composed of veteran and experienced players in the entertainment industry, Jay Lavilles, discoverer and manager of Yeng Constantino and Gintong Galing Concert event writer, Jay Unchuan, manager of Center for Pop Cebu and Little Big Star Visayas judge, and Dennis Tanoc, a representative from the Governor’s office, carefully selected the finalists.
Queency Ruth Bernales, Danica Caballes, and Karl Anthony Gonzaga were the three finalists who sang their way to the top five. While dance partners Walter Gabatu and Vanessa Aranas also landed a spot in the finals with their grace and poise. And finally, dance group composed of Reynold Gabrinez, Cicero Nunez, Rex Diaz, Ralph Abella, and Abelardo Nunez, Jr. impressed the judges with their fire dancing moves. The selected top five contestants will receive a cash prize of P20,000.
Watch them as they once again showcase their talents for the Gintong Galing Finals Night this May 16 at the Cebu Waterfront Hotel Lahug, followed by the Gintong Galing ng Pinoy concert. Tickets are available at Waterfront Hotel (Lahug) Lobby, SM Mall and Ayala Mall Customer Service, ticket prices at P1,800, P1,200, P800, P500, and P300.
This is part of Western Union’s commitment of giving value to the Filipino talents and as a way of showing appreciation to their customers’ loyalty. Aside from Cebu, Western Union will also invade Davao on June 20 and Manila on July 4 for the talent search and the concert series sponsored by the company.
