Annabelle Rama, Wilma Galvante conflict on the boil again

SHOWBIZ DRIBBLE - Salve V. Asis -

On, off, then on again. That seems to be the saga of Doctors Vicki Belo and Hayden Kho. After being together for three years, the pair broke up not too recently after Hayden admitted he had a fling with Katrina Halili, who had been endorsing the Belo line of beauty products. We thought the relationship was over and done with. Then we began hearing rumors that Hayden had been desperately trying to win Vicki over. The beauty specialist, meanwhile, played the part of the spurned woman to the hilt, flying off to the US, ostensibly to nurse her broken heart.

When the good doctor returned, there were reports of the two being spotted together. One of the latest, according to the Philippine Entertainment Portal, was a sighting of Vicki and Hayden at a beauty salon in Rockwell in Makati City, where the two had a “haircut and a blowdry.” The two looked sweet, PEP reported.

If they’re really on again, Vicki isn’t confirming it yet. She gave the stock answer, "We’re just friends," when asked at a recent TV interview.

And what about Katrina? She says she’s happy the two doctors are back together again.

The bad blood between Annabelle Rama and GMA executive Wilma Galvante came to a boil again last week.

Ms. Galvante fired the first salvo by filing before the Quezon City Regional Trial Court a P7-million suit against Annabelle for allegedly threatening her through text messages and aired interviews. She also asked the court to issue a restraining order on Annabelle to prevent the talent manager from approaching within 50 feet of her.

Not to be outdone, the feisty mom of Richard, who stars in GMA-7’s latest action series Zorro, served notice is filing a counter-suit against Ms. Galvante. When interviewed last week, Annabelle was in her usual fighting mood. “I’ll fight her. I won’t back down. She has been bullying me just because she’s a top executive.”

Keep tuned in folks. This fight could be more exciting than the Pacquiao-Hatton bout in May!

Gretchen Barretto may refuse to divulge details about her love life, but she readily admits that she has had her lips made over. She made no qualms about it, saying there’s nothing wrong in trying to make oneself more beautiful.

When asked by Boy Abunda on The Buzz if she has been asked by her “groom to be” to marry her, Gretchen replied with a Mona Lisa smile. Pressed by showbiz reporters at the launch of her album Complicated several days later, Greta refused to budge. “I didn’t answer then. Why are you trying to wangle an answer from me now?” she said.

Word has been going around that she and long-time partner TonyBoy Cojuangco have separated. Greta quickly refutes this. She and TonyBoy will be “BFF – Best Friends Forever,” she said. “For me, that’s the highest form of relationship.”

Richard Gutierrez is planning to sue Philippine Entertainment Portal for uploading a story that he and Michael Flores had a fight and that he pulled a gun on Michael. PEP Editor in Chief Joann Maglipon had apologized to Richard, explaining that the story was posted on the PEP website without going through fact-checking. But it seems that Richard is not satisfied with just an apology. Would a hefty sum suffice?

A court in Malawi has cleared the way for pop queen Madonna to adopt a 14-month-old girl from that African country. The girl, named Mercy James, is the second Malawian that Madonna, 50, has adopted.

The adoption was not without controversy. Several non-governmental groups accused Madonna was using her influence to have the adoption fast-tracked.

Madonna, who had just finished a grueling world tour, already has an adopted Malawian boy, David.
