John Vesely is 'Secondhand Serenade'

CEBU, Philippines – In the summer of 2004, singer-songwriter John Vesely decided to go solo and perform his own music. At the time, Vesely was working with various bands as a bass player and he realized that he wanted to carve his own niche in the industry.

Vesely named his first solo music project Secondhand Serenade because most of his songs were originally intended as serenades to his wife and music fans would only get to hear them ‘second-hand.’ The birth of Secondhand Serenade that summer ultimately paved the way for international success.

Fast-forward five years into 2009, Vesely has released two hit albums: Awake and the latest A Twist in My Story. In the online arena, Secondhand Serenade is the number one independent artist on MySpace and has over 20 million views on YouTube.

The second album finds Vesely working with well-known producers and an orchestra and live band to accompany him as he sings more than twelve songs. A Twist in My Story is truly a collaborative effort as Vesely himself oversaw complete production and organized the recording and packaging of the album. This album is a big step from his previous efforts, but listeners can still expect Vesely’s signature raw vocals on these tracks as he exhibits his expertise on both the piano and guitar.

During Ayala Center Cebu’s Graduation Sale March 27-31, Cebu will get a taste of world-class entertainment from Secondhand Serenade. Performing a one-hour set live at The Terraces at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 30, Vesely will wow mall shoppers with chart-topping hits like “Maybe,” “Your Call,” “Vulnerable” and “Fall for You.”
