Proudly Pinoy 'The Speaks' to perform during SM 3-Day Sale

CEBU, Philippines – After the phenomenal success of The Speaks single High—which featured a duet with the very talented singer-songwriter Barbie Almalbis—the band is preparing for a live performance with Cebuano fans at the SM City Cebu in time for its 3-Day Sale this coming April 3, 4, and 5. The Speaks is also gearing up for another round of hits like “Tomorrow” and “Regret” with their latest album “This is the Time” under MCA Music, Inc. in the Philippines.

The Speaks—with several members who are all American-born, but of Filipino heritage—presents a driven, emotionally charged music in a unique, unparalleled package. The band already garnered numerous accolades from both here and abroad. They’ve won major music competitions rocked crowds numbering to over a thousand. They’ve had over a million hits on YouTube, and is gaining major support from one of the most influential radio stations in the United States. They have shared the stage with Jimmy Eat World, and are currently working with high-profile Dragonfly Studios, which has been responsible for such artists as Dave Matthews Band, N-Sync, SR-71, et cetera. The Speaks’ amazing live performances and infectious sounds have created a loyal and dedicated following within the local, national, and international music scene.

In 2005, The Speaks signed a distribution, production, and publishing deal with Warner Music with the album release in the Philippines. Their second single off the album “High” has received an unprecedented amount of airplay, even reaching number 1 on the longest running radio chart in Asia, as well as the music video gaining regular rotation on MTV Asia, MYX, and other music video channels.
