It's back to work for Lorna Tolentino

Lorna Tolentino is enjoying her return to work. She was among the stars featured in the latest station ID of ABS-CBN. The actress signed a two-year contract with ABS-CBN where she is slated to do two movies and two teleseryes for the said duration. During the shoot of the station ID, Lorna was paired with Gabby Concepcion and John Estrada, who will be her partners in her forthcoming Kapamilya teleserye.

According to Lorna, work on the teleserye would probably start by April or May since Holy Week is fast approaching and the production people would probably take a break to observe the Lenten Season. Besides, the script for the teleserye is still being revised after some changes were made to it.

Would she agree to do a kissing scene if ever that is needed in the series? “I don’t see anything wrong in doing a kissing scene. Even when Rudy (Fernandez) was still alive, I already agree to do kissing scenes,” said Lorna who added she had a kissing scene with John when they did a teleserye together for ABS-CBN.

The actress also revealed that the mausoleum that she’s having built for her husband Daboy would probably be finished by May. She didn’t hide the fact that she spent quite a fortune for it, adding that even some of their savings went into it. That’s why her manager Lolit Solis told that her that she should go back to work.

She also revealed that there are some men who are sending feelers that they are interested to court her but Lorna said she’s not yet ready to entertain suitors. She’s content in enjoying the company of her sons, Ralph and Renz, and her good friends.

Lorna is promoting the album H.O.P.E. (Healing of Pain and Enlightenment) Volume 2 – Wings of the Soul,” produced by Pinky Tobiano and line-produced by Star Records with the help of Philip Cu-Unjieng.

“Wings of the Soul” encompasses a different set of concept: acceptance, healing, surrendering and moving on. The new path of the CD comes in the person of Lorna, who stands for those people who have had a loved one suffer from cancer.

Like the first volume, the sales of Wings of the Soul album will also go to certain beneficiaries: The Pinky cares Foundation and The Rudy Fernandez Cancer Foundation, Inc.

Kapamilya fans from Davao went early to the Gaisano Mall last week to make sure they would get good seats to the star-studded Kapamilya Karavan presented by the Regional Network Group (RNG) as part of the Araw ng Dabaw celebration.

The day started with the distribution of numbers to the "early birds". This would give them a chance to win P5000 from the Kapamilya network. In line with ABS-CBN Davao’s 20 years in service, 20 Kapamilya viewers were lucky to receive the cash prize.

The special mall show was packed and was led by ABS-CBN Davao local talents Claudette Centeno, Redge and Rovic Cuasito from the show Mag-TV Na which airs every 10:45-11:45 am over ABS-CBN Davao.

The audience was in a festive mood as volunteers were chosen to join in the fun games such as a dance contest, "Bring Me," relay and of course, the much-anticipated special numbers from the Kapamilya stars.

Among the stars that joined the celebration were Melissa Ricks, Enchong Dee and Gabby Concepcion. All of them received warm welcome from the Davaoenos. The three star also helped in picking the numbers for the P5000 winners.

ABS-CBN had a special coverage of the ’Araw ng Dabaw’ aired on ABS-CBN Davao DXAS-TV, Channel 4 and heard live on "My Only Radio" 101.1 For Life, DXRR 101.1MHz Davao City. ABS-CBN Davao continues to be the number one network in the hearts of the Davaoeños. This serves as an inspiration for the network to continue doing its best and give exceptional programs that can be trusted.

Manny Pacquiao should be very careful in making decisions when it comes to his business. There are people who tend to forget professionalism and fairness just to get what they want. If Manny won’t be careful with his dealings, there might be more problems coming his way. He should consult his legal and financial team on his dealings thoroughly before making any move.

The boxer certainly rocked the boat when he announced that he has inked a deal with ABS-CBN and that the Kapamilya network would air the coverage of his fight with Ricky Hatton, despite of him having a live contract with Solar Sports.

It’s a good thing that Manny has come back to his senses and has realized that he could not just turn his back on the deal that he signed with Solar Sports, ditto with GMA 7 where he has two shows (Pinoy Records and Totoy Bato).

Manny should take the time out to listen to his advisers when it comes to money matters and contracts to avoid falling into disputes with other parties. If he was indeed the one who approached ABS-CBN to forge a contract with them, he also did a disservice to the network when he lied that his contract with Solar has been rescinded and that he is free to enter into a new contract with the Kapamilya network. The next time he makes a move, he should be sure that he’s making the right one, lest he’d eat his words again once proven wrong in his actions.

Got this forwarded message from KC Concepcion last Saturday who is taping “Lovers in Paris” with Piolo Pascual.

 “Good morning po. Naku eh pagabi na pala diyan. We just pulled out going to our location. We are on the road now. We are quite far from the city. Piolo is busy studying his numerous dialogues in French. He’s a fast learner but he seems stressed and he looked as if he’d like to jump out of the window…hahaha. It’s very cold here and it’s a good thing that our scene is not like the one in the original Lovers in Paris where Carlo’s using a top down car in the scene. Our lessons in French inside the car are really unforgettable. Also memorable is the cold climate. My statement of the day is I feel alive,” read KC’s text message.

Few seconds later we received another forwarded message from KC, saying that they have just arrived on the location. She was able to do catch a nap while on the way to location and when she opened her eyes, she saw a long line of tall trees. Some of the trees didn’t have leaves in them because it’s autumn. KC even wondered what could Zanjoe (Marudo) be doing since it’s his free day. She added that PJ (Piolo) had memorized all his French dialogues and the crew is about to ready to take a grind. For her part, KC said she just finished her phone patch interview with Entertainment Live.
