CEBU, Philippines - W hat does one do when in love? For Ultimate Champion Rachelle Ann Go, she can record an album in just six days!
Celebrating her 5th anniversary in the music industry last March 13, Rachelle Ann graced SM City Cebu to promote her latest album, “Falling in Love”.
“Falling in Love” is her fifth album under Viva Records, which contains revivals of the 14 best and most popular love songs from the 70s and 80s. With the carrier single, “This Time I’ll be Sweeter,” the album proved to be different from Rachelle’s previous albums.
“Itong album, iba. ‘Yung Rachelle Ann Rocks medyo upbeat. Dito naman, medyo mellow. So hindi ito mga birit usual songs,” Rachelle told The FREEMAN Entertainment.
Rachelle attested that she helped choose what songs would be included in her album. These songs are “If,” “Of All the Things,” “Somebody Waiting,” “I Got Caught Dancing Again,” “If You Don’t Know Me By Now,” “Didn’t We,” “Feelings,” “Let the Pain Remain,” “Traces,” “You and Me Against the World,” “You and I,” “All the Things You Are” and “I’ll Always Love You.”
With such list of songs and the title of the album itself, one can easily suspect that the artist herself must be in love.
“Ako? Ngayon? In love – daw!” she smiled.
Her Lovelife
And so speaking of love, what is Rachelle like when she is in love?
“Inspired ako. Floating. Iba yung feeling, parang ang gaan,” she said.
Rachelle’s love life has been talked-about in showbiz circles for the past year.
In their two-year relationship, Rachelle has definitely learned a lot from former boyfriend, singer Christian Bautista.
“Mas naging close ako kay God. Siyempre, mabuting tao si Christian. Maraming nagbago sa buhay ko dahil sa kanya,” she said.
Because they are working together in ASAP ’09, Rachelle said that after their break-up, she did feel a bit awkward toward “Asia’s Pop Idol,” however things got better in the long run.
“Barkada naman talaga kami. So mabilis bumalik sa dati,” she said.
Well, Rachelle has moved on and right now, she is happily in love with Gab Valenciano.
“He’s a nice person. Unang impression ko sa kanya suplado pero hindi naman pala. Sobrang bait nya. God-fearing. Extremes siya eh. May times na kalog siya, may times din na serious naman,” she said.
Their love tandem was seen on ABS-CBN’s Your Song during its February love special.
That acting exposure somehow made her realize acting is not just her field. “Di kaya ng powers ko!” she good-humoredly stressed.
After this fifth album, Rachelle will be busy with her U.S. Concert Tour and is looking into the possibility of producing another album next year – this time, all originals.
Well, may it be with music or with Gab, Rachelle is definitely in love – probably why it only took her six days to record her album, contrary to the usual recording which lasts for several weeks.
See what love can do, indeed!
