Megastar Sharon Cuneta was on the set of “Iskul Bukol…20 Years After.” The location was the Arellano University located along Legarda St., in Manila. Sharon has a special participation in the movie where she plays Sharon Escalera, the youngest of the Escalera siblings, with Tito Sotto and Joey de Leon playing her brothers.
In a short interview that she granted for the invited press people, Sharon was asked regarding the persistent issue that she and her husband Sen. Kiko Pangilinan nearly broke up because of the oft reported rumor – that Kiko has a kept woman (said to be a resident in an undisclosed place somewhere down South). There’s even a new twist to this item – that Kiko’s supposed woman has two kids with the senator.
Sharon was obviously not pleased that this rumor or issue has resurfaced. Why has it been resurrected? Sharon has no movie to promote (her appearance in “Iskul Bukol” is very minimal) and the elections are not until 2010 so there’s no need for Kiko to campaign this early. There’s no semblance of truth to this matter—yet, it always crops up.
The megastar is annoyed by all these intrigues as she tries to remain calm and silent about it. But last Tuesday, Sharon said she’s willing to give out a reward of P 2 to P3 million to whoever could show evidence that this matter is true. Show her some proof so she would believe. Otherwise, this is just plain intrigue that is being used to foment disorder in her happy family.
Sharon even dared that she’s not afraid to get out of her marriage with Kiko, if this matter turns out to be true. Why would she be afraid when her career is very stable and she could lead a comfortable life for her and her children, even without a husband? When Sharon’s marriage with Gabby Concepcion bogged down, Sharon took the task of raising Kristina Cassandra (KC) on her own. They survived even if the megastar didn’t have enough means to do so.
“I won’t hesitate to leave my husband if this rumor turns out to be true. I won’t allow myself to be given the round around. Hindi ako papayag na lokohin ako,” she said. “Kung niloloko niya ako, eh di sabay-sabay natin siyang iwanan.” Such is a kiss of death on Kiko’s political ambition. Kiko knows how important Sharon is to him if ever he decides to seek higher office. If Sharon makes a statement that would undermine Kiko’s integrity and credibility, then his political ambition goes down the drain. Of course, Kiko is smart and intelligent enough not to succumb to such dire consequence.
Going back to “Iskul Bukol,” even when it was still a TV series, Sharon had always been a part of it although she very rarely appears on it. Hers was just a special participation, much like her role in the movie version that is the entry of Vic Sotto’s film outfit (M-ZET TV (Productions) to the forthcoming Metro Manila Film Festival. She’d only tape for the TV show if she had time. That was the arrangement since “Iskul Bukol” started until it went off the air in 1987. This also marks the reunion of Tito, Vic and Joey in a movie after 20 years.

Starstruck Ultimate Hunk Aljur Abrenica was besieged by questions from the media at the presscon of “Luna Mystica,” the latest telefantasya in GMA 7. We all know the alleged trouble which erupted between Aljur and Richard Gutierrez in a bar. Since that incident happened, it was only last Tuesday that the press finally got to see Aljur.
But no matter the persistence of the press members, Aljur was quite successful in parrying the inquisition of the entertainment writers. He said he’s not going to answer any question regarding the incident that happened between him and the lead star of “Codename: Asero” which ends tonight on GMA 7.
Aljur said he’d rather concentrate on work and not dwell anymore on that episode. He also declined to comment if that incident involving him and Richard had something to do with Jewel Mische, who is rumored to be Richard’s secret girlfriend.
But even if he doesn’t want to say anything further, Aljur said he’s not feeling okay with what transpired between him and Richard. “I would only say something if there’s a need to defend myself. All I can say is I know the truth and I stand by it,” said Aljur who’s playing an engkanto in “Luna Mystica” which starts on Monday, November 17 on GMA 7.

Gabriel Valenciano and Rachelle Ann Go became close to each other after undergoing a team-building seminar for “ASAP ’08,” the Sunday noontime show of ABS-CBN. The two hardly talked to each other before although Gabriel was vocal in saying that among the ASAP girls, Rachelle is his favorite singer.
“She’s the only one I’m going out with. She’s a good girl. I like her simplicity. Her simple life, her family,” said Gabriel about the singing champion. But he can’t say if he’s going to pursue courting her because he’s leaving next year for the US to study at the Full Sail University and fulfill his dream of becoming a record producer.
If that happens, nothing could come out of this special friendship that Gab has with Rachelle. Besides, he’s too shy to ask her if she’s willing to wait for him after two years. By that time, Gab would have finished with his studies.
Gabriel is appearing on “Gary V: Live at 25” to be held tonight and tomorrow night at the Araneta Coliseum. This is his dad’s concert and he wouldn’t want to miss the chance of sharing the stage with his dad, Gary V.
Also performing is his elder brother Paolo Valenciano together with his Salamin Band.

One of the most hard-working cast members of “Bubble Gang” is Maureen Larrazabal. She also enjoys being with children. In fact, she has adopted twins, who are her source of inspiration to work harder.
Family-oriented, Maureen also bought house properties for her mother and siblings at Filinvest. She also sent two of her younger siblings, Raine and EJ, to school. No wonder, blessings continue to pour in for this “Bubble Gang” mainstay.
