The Cebu Chamber Singers, a dynamic local group of music enthusiasts from different parishes, schools and community choirs, will serenade shoppers of SM City Cebu as they perform at The Atrium of The Northwing at 6 o’clock tonight, November 9, 2008.
Enjoy their soothing and powerful voices as they perform in a concert dubbed “Second Movement: A Musical Journey” conducted by multi-awarded choirmaster, Dennis Sugarol.
The 30-member group of professionals and students (doctors, lawyers, teachers, et al) sings regularly at the Pedro Calungsod Shrine, Cebu City. It is committed to promoting religious, folk, and popular music to the populace. The Cebu Chamber Singers renders service music to the church, the school and the community.
Its very first major achievement beyond the local scene was winning two golds in the Asian Choir Games held in Jakarta, Indonesia on November 10, 2007. The Cebu Chamber Singers was proclaimed the “Winner of the Asian Open,” for the Gospel & Spiritual, and the Mixed Chamber Choir categories in the Asian Choir Games organized by the Interkultur Foundation.
