Powerspoonz's "Bakbakan" rules the airwaves

Powerspoonz joins the Cebuano invasion of Manila with a hot new single titled “Bakbakan”—a heart-thumping tribute to Filipino boxers as they bring honor to the country throughout the world.

The boxing anthem rules the airwaves across the country, playing on over 50 stations nationwide, to the delight of music and sports fans alike.

The rock rookies’ powerhouse brand of music is the perfect match for the new breed of champion fighters exploding out of Visayas and Mindanao.

Boxing is without a doubt the Philippines’ favorite spectator sport, as Filipino champs consistently excel in the international arena. The alliance of boxing and bands are certain to be a knock-out combination.

Powerspoonz—composed of Akit Po on vocals, Franklin Veloso and Brian Estillore on guitars, Boobop Nuñez on bass and Ian Se Kong on drums—are all born and bred in the Queen City of the South, and have built a solid following among ‘southside’ music lovers with their potent brew of ‘raggarockcore’—that is both fresh and original.

Powerspoonz’ management team, led by Lizza G. Nakpil, noted that she was ‘delighted’ at the newest addition to the RANA roster of artists. RANA Entertainment, which owns and manages Rivermaya, was responsible for discovering and developing such talents as Bamboo and Rico Blanco, to name a few.
