Flamenco Duo at the Marco Polo Plaza

Flamenco is a form of Spanish music with strong rhythmic undertones and is often accompanied with a similarly impassioned style of dance characterized by its powerful yet graceful execution, as well as its intricate hand and footwork. It exists in three forms: cante, the song, baile, the dance, and guitarra, guitar playing.

Beginning yesterday until September 4, Madrid-based international guitarist Adolfo Timuat accompanies dancer Jessie Santos and demonstrate the passion, grace and fire of the most sensual of Spain’s music at the Marco Polo Plaza. Adolfo Timuat is recognized by guitar masters of Spain as “guitarrista de concierto, compositor, professor, e investigador”. His career as a guitarist was launched with flamenco guitar recital at Carnegie hall. While in NYC, he was a guest teacher at the American Institute of Guitar. Jessie Santos studied with Escuela Flamenca of Carmes de las Cuevas in Granada and performs for Grupo de Baile Andaluz and Grupo Flamenco del Señor Gomez.

Adolfo Timuat and Jessie Santos are performing at the Marco Polo Plaza as part of its Sabores de España, a celebration of Spanish Culture and Cuisine. Their performances are free and open to the public nightly and made possible with the support of Cebu Pacific. El Viento Restaurant and Pool Bar will be offering a selection of Spanish delicacies served a la carte while the Lobby Lounge will be serving a fine selection of authentic Spanish Tapas.
