Paraluman rocks!
No one can deny the popularity of the name Paraluman. During our parents or grandparents' time, Paraluman was one of the prettiest leading ladies of Philippine cinema in the 1940s. In the '90s, Paraluman shot to fame anew through Eraserheads' hit "Ang Huling El Bimbo." In today's gen, however, Paraluman is one of the youngest bands to hit the scene.
Consists of five talented members — Madeline Ramboyong (vocals), Arjay Romero (lead guitar), VR Romero (bass), Jay Macalincag (rhythm guitar), and Jimbo Cuenco (drums) — they produce daring and edgy music yet versatile enough to switch into mellow tunes whenever necessary. Madeline's voice is smooth, rounded and quite enigmatic, mesmerizing listeners as they take on the stage.
Paraluman writes songs which speak clearly of young minds' experiences on love, be it confusion, joy, or frustration-emotions expressed on originals such as Emily, Slip, and Maghanap.
Although the band is technically a rookie in the industry, most of the members are already experienced musicians. They have tremendous drive and willingness to learn the ropes and seize every opportunity given them. Fortunately, their hard work was not wasted as they covered Sampaguita's "Ikaw Pa Rin" for the compilation album Bagong Banda: Awit ni Sampaguita under Ballyhoo Records. Moreover, they have been performing in significant events in the Metro such as SMB Oktoberfest Party, MYX Slam Jam, UP Fair, and Philippine Star's Job Fair to name a few.
More blessings have been given to the band because as soon as their single Emily reached the airwaves, many listeners kept on requesting for it. Soon after, their single graced countdowns. Today, Emily ranks on Campus FM's daily countdown and RX daily survey.
With the growing number of listeners who recognized the real talent Paraluman offers, the band released its album, PARALUMAN INLAB, under Soupstar Music and Universal Records.
The name Paraluman rocks each and every generation. So watch out for this band for it will surely live out the name's prestige.
