Air Supply’s ‘Best of Ballads’ concert in Cebu

Yes, even the night is better on June 13 — a special evening for lovers when some of the world’s most romantic ballads will be sung and performed live by AIR SUPPLY. 

Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock return to Cebu for a one-night-only concert billed as “AIR SUPPLY—From the Heart...Best of Ballads” at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel Grand Ballroom. 

The soft-rock duo began their career in Sydney, Australia in the mid 1970s and achieved success with their first few recordings. When they were invited to open for Rod Stewart during his Australian tour, he was so impressed with their performance that he invited them to be his opening act for his forthcoming US tour.

The band reformatted as a duo and Hitchcock and Russell started out fresh again in 1978 when they released Life Support, a concept album that featured a 5 and a half minute version of “Lost in Love.” This caught the attention of music mogul Clive Davis, and his record label,  Arista. The song was then released as a single in the US. This was the first of many hits for Air Supply and the rest, as they say, is pop recording history. The duo from down under stormed the top of the charts with successive hit songs like “All Out of Love,” “The One that You Love,” “Now and Forever,” “Two Less Lonely People in the World,” and “Even the Nights are Better.”

The best of ballads is what concert goers will be treated to in the next big concert to hit Cebu— “AIR SUPPLY...From the Heart.” Hitchcock and Russell will perform them all, from the sweet syrupy and sentimental to the most bittersweet ballads.
