Yayo Aguila’s turning point as an artist

- Rachelle Marie G. Dangin -

She has been in the show business for 24 years, yet she believes that her recent stint in the Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition 2 is her biggest turning point as an artist.

“It’s an open book na ayaw ko talaga sumali noon. Pero my family kept on encouraging me. So I agreed and I’m happy because it opened a lot of doors for me. I thought that PBB is a new world for me to explore,” Yayo tells The Freeman in an interview.

Inside the house, since she was the only mom, she felt that she had the responsibility to take care of all the housemates. That she believes was the greatest challenge she had faced.

“Minsan nga kinausap ko si Kuya tungkol diyan dahil nga parang ang hirap,” Yayo starts. “But it was a great experience. I built a relationship with each one of them. May interaction ako sa bawat isa at ‘yun ang baon ko sa experience. Ngayon nga, hindi maputol ang friendship at magkikita pa rin kaming nagkikita lahat.”

And she didn’t regret entering PBB because she learned a lot. She learned much about patience and friendship. With her experience, she believes she grew strong and gained more self-confidence.

“Sabi ko nga kay Kuya na hindi pala imposible magmahal ng tao kahit hindi mo siya nakikita. Comforting kasi ang boses ng Kuya. I look forward to going to the Confession Room kasi pwede ko isigaw lahat ng nararamdaman ko.”

Yayo might be too sexy and fit to be still mistaken as single, but she really is a mom. She works out two to three hours everyday. She makes an effort to maintain a healthy lifestyle, not just for herself and her work, but for her family as well. And she’s happy because Leo Martinez, her husband, appreciates that.

Right now, Yayo is busy with “Kung Fu kids,” mall shows, guestings and will soon star in “Utoy.”

“Utoy is a fantaserye na parang Pinocchio. Dwende kaming lahat dito na housemates,” Yayo reveals.
