Buena Mano debuts today
Share your breakfast rituals with your newest morning barkada from GMA 7’s “Buena Mano”—a de-chained portion of “Unang Hirit”—which Kapusong Cebuanos will get to watch beginning today.
It’s been a while since I last graced The Freeman’s entertainment pages. I know I’ve been deviant in passing my columns…apologies to my sweet, sweet editor.
My day job has been quite a bitch as of late, pretty much like a nagging boyfriend who demands so much attention and fuss. But then, work’s what been keeping me sane. Ironic huh? Go figure.
The weather has been pretty much unpredictable as well. And so far, it has been all but sunny mornings for me. Everything’s wet whenever I’d step out for work. But you know what? I love it when it rains, somehow it stretches my early morning rituals—steaming mug of coffee, breakfast and catching GMA’s early morning show, Unang Hirit.
I know some friends who share the same breakfast ritual with me, so am sharing this bit of good news to my Cebuano friends (most especially to you, dear readers). Our Kapuso Station will launch
Buena Mano’s a de-chained portion of Unang Hirit which all Kapusong Cebuanos will get to watch starting today, October 8.
If I remember it right (recalling my survival Spanish), BUENA MANO literally means “a good hand or deal.” To shop owners, it means the first and ideally lucky sale of the day. Haven’t you notice, when you’re the first buyer for the day, the sales lady will tap the money you’ve given to their wares for luck?
Perfect title for GMA Cebu’s newest morning show, isn’t it? Folks behind BUENA MANO intimated that there’s a whole lot of new things to watch out for—from news, views, entertainment to fashion!
So, it’s pretty much like getting that extra jolt of caffeine and sharing that experience with your newest Buena Mano morning barkada composed of Cherryl Pelayo, Allan Domingo and Algen Abaquita!
Just so you’d get a sip on what’s brewing over at Buena Mano, check this out!
APRUB! What comes to mind when you hear this word? Approval, right? And there’s no other visual than a thumbs-up sign! In Buena Mano’s APRUB! everything and anything that’s a-okay, effective, positive, excellent and a sure winner will be given that thumbs-up, go! Go! Go! sign.
Viewers will also get a chance to call-in their answers and win exciting gift packages and gift certificates over at BUENA MANO SUKI!
COMPRADOR UPDATE will keep tabs of prime commodity prices while - KAHIMTANG SA PANAHON is set to dish off regular weather bulletins in the city centers around the region. TRAPIKO! will alert motorists and commuters on traffic updates in selected areas in the city using the mobile eye or 3G phones.
And while BUENA MANO aims to make early morning viewing fun and at the same time informative, of course, news will be an integral element of the show. After all, GMA’s News and Public Affairs arm is the most trusted when it comes to credibility and public service.
BALITANG BISDAK SA BUNTAG or Triple B jumpstarts every Cebuano’s craving for hard news—whether local or national issues with local impact, the first serving of the day will be coming from Triple B. Over at KAPIHAN, the hottest topic will be discussed with guest speakers/experts to be invited over. UNSAY SAY NIMO? is where viewers can share in the discussion through text or by calling in their questions and opinions. In this segment, a controversial question on a particular ‘hot’ issue will be posed. On the lighter side of the news, TSIKA NI TIOPETA brings the latest tsika in showbiz, whether local or foreign.
Buena Mano has an interesting line-up of weekly segments that will cater to everybody. On Mondays, Bobby Nalzaro gets the slice of the morning show via Bobby on Board Saksi. Tuesdays are reserved for legal advice via Dear Attorney. Medical woes and queries will be entertained on Wednesdays via Doktor, Doktor, I am sick. Cebuanos get an extra shot of pride on Thursdays via Garbo sa Sugbo! as the camera focuses on the Queen city of the South’s different sources of pride. And it’s all about fashion on Fashionista Na Ka! on Fridays—makeovers, the latest, what’s hot and what’s not takes the stage as the week comes to a wrap.
By the way, I’ve seen BUENA MANO’s icon, and it’s cute! An alarm clock with its face winking at the viewer.
Exciting noh? Kaya, be sure to make BUENA MANO part of your breakfast, only at GMA Network.
