Singer Mark Bautista unveils brand-new home

Singer Mark Bautista has finally put his knowledge in architecture into good use through the dream house he has built for himself in a subdivision in Quezon City.

According to a report in Pang-Masa (Manila-based sister tabloid of this paper), Mark was already a third year Architecture student at the Cagayan de Oro College before stopped schooling to join the singing search “Star For A Night.” After landing as a runner-up, there was no turning back since.

Mark may not have achieved his ambition of becoming an architect, yet, he has fulfilled another long-held dream—that is to become a well-known singer.

“Yung pagiging architect-by-heart ko ay makikita rin dito sa house na pinagawa ko,” Mark, who was very hands-on when it came to the making of his home, was quoted by Pang-Masa. “Yung ibang furniture dito sa bahay, idea ko. Yung spiral stairs at railings ay contribution ko. Humingi rin ako ng tulong sa kaibigan kong interior decorator. Kami-kami ang nagbuo para maging maayos ang paglipat namin dito.”

Mark held a house blessing last Saturday, which coincided with his 26th birthday celebration.

A sister and a brother will live with him in his brand-new two-storey, three-bedroom home, while the rest of his family will reside in a Cagayan de Oro. After all, they still have a business to run in CDO, and Mark already had their house there renovated.  

“Tuwing special occasions lang kami nagkikita ng mga parents ko at ng ibang kamag-anak. They fly to Manila para magkasama kaming lahat. Minsan nga homesick ako kapag nagsu-show kami sa iba’t ibang bansa. Pero kailangan nating magtrabaho para mas maraming maipon, ‘di ba?”

Mark will leave the country again this August 17 for a 12-city concert tour in the US, together with Sarah Geronimo. The concert series starts on August 18 in Ohio, then will proceed in Nevada, California, Florida, Washington DC, Illinois, New York and Alaska. A solo concert, on the other hand, will happen this October.
