All-star reggae concert a blast

-
Homegrown acts Pasakanin, Queen Cities, Bambu Spliff, Pitch Melba, Domestic Grass and Skankin Brews featured

Mango Square recently hosted an exciting reggae jamming at its open plaza last April 21, 2007 to mark the arrival of the summer season.

"All-Star Reggae" was presented by Converse, designer of Chuck Taylor All Star sports wear, and featured homegrown reggae groups Pasakanin, Queen Cities, Bambu Spliff, Pitch Melba, Domestic Grass and Skankin Brews. (See related photos.) All performing groups rendered original compositions as well as cover songs.

The event also kicked off the album summer promotion of Pasakanin. Free FIFA 2006 World Cup Lanyards were given for free to those who purchased the album. Converse items were also given away during the games conducted by Monster Radio host, Paulo Walker. Bigfoot Entertainment also gave away pass-a-load and gift certificates to those who signed up at ItzAmatch.com through computers set up on site.

The stage bore the signs of summer, with beach scenes flashed through a rear projector provided by the marketing group of International Pharmaceutical Incorporated. Sound Balloon, Cebu''s leading lights and sound provider, powered up the stage with state-of-the art equipment.

"All-Star Reggae" was also sponsored by Beat and Autoshop-the resident dance clubs at the Mango Square.
