Kim Chiu is a hot endorser in the making

The breaks-from acting assignments to product endorsements-come aplenty for this fast-rising teen star from Cebu. Bubbly Kim Chiu shares how she''s tackling the celebrity life.

Seems like this chinita charmer from Cebu isn''t running out of blessings!

A young and fresh face in the world of show business, Kim Chiu is becoming one sought-after product endorser, gracing commercials or print ads of a feminine care product, a fastfood chain, a fashion brand, among others. Now, she has been tapped anew to endorse a new food product-Blocks.

Manufactured by the CEED Marketing, Blocks is a fun snack. It is crunchy and comes in four different fillings: Chocolate, Vanilla, Orange and Peanut Butter. At a very affordable price, the snack is available in two sizes, in 5 and 35 grams. The snack can be great with milk, too.

In a press conference held during her 17th birthday last April 19 in Abaseria Restaurant in Mabolo, Kim was launched as Blocks'' celebrity endorser.

Kim''s product endorsements must connect with her personality, according to her handlers from ABS-CBN Star Magic. True enough, Kim fits perfectly with Blocks. As CEED marketing representative Hershey Legaspina puts it, "Kim is a symbol of the young ones. And like the Blocks, she is sweet too."

How Kim enjoys this snack is how she also tries to enjoy her life. "Ang Blocks kay gagmay (small). To enjoy it, take one bite at a time. [In life], take one step at a time. Dili mag-dream ug taas ug daku kaayo. Hinay-hinay lang kay madaot unya. (Don''t dream too high and too big. Take it slow or things will go wrong)," Kim shares.

This goes to say that our Pinoy Big Brother Teen Winner is taking showbiz one step at a time. First solo movie in the offing

With the conclusion of her first-ever teleserye Sana Maulit Muli, Kim is out to tackle another challenge. It would still be with loveteam partner Gerald Anderson, though this time it would be for the big screen.

The still-untitled film, which begins shooting next week, is the first big-screen project of director Lino Cayetano, who has helmed teleseryes for ABS-CBN in the past. While this will mark the second outing for "Kimerald" (the uni-name that fans have branded their pairing), who first appeared in Star Cinema''s "First Day High," this will be their first solo loveteam film, set to tackle such themes as teen romance, adventure and family ties.

"Nindot ni siya (movie). Ang mga tao maglibog pag-una kay pareha man mi ug pangan ni Gerald. (This movie is good. The people will be confused because at start, Gerald and I will have the same names)," Kim reveals.

Undeniably, the "Kimerald" tandem has worked wonders. Touted as the hottest young team-up that ABS-CBN has produced of late, they are being predicted to follow the footsteps of Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz. But unlike the Bea-John Lloyd pairing which has moved on to mature roles, Kim says that she''s so young to be permitted to have a kissing scene.

Yet, Kim is open to the possibility of being paired with somebody else. "Ok ra, trabaho mana. (It''s fine. That''s work)," Kim says with a smile. But she admits that she couldn''t think of anyone her age that she''d like to be paired with. Making progress in acting

Kim believes that she has made progress in terms of acting. One proof for this naturally giggly and bubbly teen is that she now knows how to cry. "Sauna dili baya jud ko ganahan mohilak unya kay unsaun nga akong mga roles naa man hilak-hilak (Before, I really don''t want to cry but then, my roles involve crying)," she giggles.

Because of her packed schedules, Kim might have a hard time going back to school now. Yet, how busy she may be, if she has the chance, she tunes in to the reality show she''s very grateful for her showbiz break-Pinoy Big Brother.

Asked to comment on Cebuana bet Dionne Monsanto''s presence on the show, Kim remarks "dili siya dapat mag-think na naa siya sa TV. Dili unta niya buhaton ang mga butang para mailhan siya. Just be youself lang gud siya. (She mustn''t think that she''s being watched on TV. She must not do things just so she''ll be known. She just needs to be herself)."

With the many good things that have come Kim''s way since winning the PBB teen edition last year, all she could ever pray and wish for during her 17th birthday was that "sana tuloy-tuloy na ang blessings (I hope the blessings continue to come)." More concretely, Kim, who currently rents a condo unit in Cubao with her elder sister and father, also hopes to buy a house for herself and her family in the future.

Come to think of it: Kim has starred in a teleserye, acted in a movie and endorsed one product after another (a total of 12-and still growing-to date!) in the span of just a year. For sure, we''ll be expecting more to come in the next few years.
