Last call to join summer theater workshop

There are still a few slots left in Little Boy Productions’ three-week summer theater workshop to be supervised by world-class theater artist Michael Williams set for April 16 to May 6 at the Sacred Heart School – Jesuit, Mango Avenue Campus. The workshops aim to introduce kids to theater and the performing arts, develop their talents, foster teamwork, discipline, commitment and support, while making new friends along the way.

"We are privileged to have Michael Williams supervise the workshops here in Cebu," says Hendri Go of Little Boy Productions. "This is a rare opportunity for those looking for quality, professional theater workshops but can’t go to Manila to join the workshops there," he added.

There will be two classes: Children’s Musical Theater for kids 6 to 12 years old, and Musical Theater for Young Adults for participants 13 years old and above. Both workshops will culminate in a Broadway musical presentation for family and friends at the Marcelo Fernan Theater on May 6.

Michael Williams was in the original cast of "Miss Saigon" in London, and went on to play Lun Tha in the touring and West End productions of "The King and I." He is also a resident actor of Repertory Philippines and has directed and appeared in productions such as "Once on This Island," "Les Miserables," "the Sound of Music," and "The Man of La Mancha." His last collaboration with Little Boy Productions was the musical "I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change," which he directed and was brought to Cebu last July. Michael also teaches acting workshops for Repertory Philippines but is taking the summer off to teach here in Cebu.

Little Boy Productions, headed by executive producer Hendri Go, is a theater production company based in Cebu. Among those who started their professional theater careers with Little Boy Productions are Jing Fegi (currently playing Nala in The Lion King in Hong Kong Disneyland), Christine Fernandez (Search for the Star in a Million finalist), Bong Cabrera (Tanghalang Pilipino Actor’s Company at the CCP), Randolph Libres, and Raki Vega. Little Boy Productions also produced the stage version of Disney’s "High School Musical" in Manila starring Karel Marquez for Blue Repertory, and plans are underway for a Cebu staging later this year.
