‘Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo’ big winner at the 23rd Star Awards

Simple, smooth-flowing and star-studded—this was how the 23rd PMPC STAR AWARDS FOR MOVIES went during its staging at the UP Theater Friday night and aired at IBC 13 Saturday night.

Hosts were real-life sweethearts Jericho Rosales and Heart Evangelista plus Iza Calzado and Dingdong Dantes. Ryan Agoncillo served as the trivia host.

Performers in the three-hour program included singing champs Frenchie Dy, Jed Madela, Gerald Santos, and Acielle Santos. The versatile singer-comedienne Ms. Ai-Ai delas Alas presented an explosive production number and changed into several costumes. Ogie Alcasid and Jaya performed a medley of the nominated songs, with the finale featuring Ms. Kuh Ledesma.

Nineteen awards were given away under different categories, and these include the Darling of the Press, which was won by Ogie Alcasid. The ULIRANG ARTISTA award, on the other hand, was feted on the veteran host-comedian German Moreno.
