Well, the stars of the hit 90's kiddie show have grown up; many of them have become legitimate actors and actresses. Still, the "esmyuske" sketch comedy formula-though it has assumed various permutations-has endured through the years. And the format is very much alive in the Sunday late afternoon ABS-CBN show "Goin' Bulilit."
The gregarious and precocious foursome was in Cebu last week to promote the educational audio-video CD, "My First Lessons with Jollibee Series 2." A follow-up to the successful first series of the same title featuring topics "Myself," "My Family" and "My Community," the CD should delight kids or parents who'd want their kids to learn new things through music, games and fun activities.
Apart from "Goin' Bulilit," these kids have scored individual heavy drama projects-Nikki, 9, was in "Mga Anghel Na Walang Langit"; Sharlene, 8, starred in her own teleserye, "Calla Lily"; John, 11, was a scene-stealer in "Feng Shui" while the Star Circle Kid grand questor Nash, 8, had been in the top-rater "Gulong Ng Palad."
True to "Goin' Bulilit" comic fashion, the wonder kids humored the adults in a recent presscon-turned-gag fest as they try to out-joke each other. Nikki: Use Baguio, Caloocan, Dagupan, Iloilo in a sentence?
Kay Baguio-Baguio mo palang ang dami mong Caloocan. Eh kung Dagupan kaya kita, eh di na Iloilo ka na!
