Four nights of fun and music beginning Thursday and winding up on Sunday are happening at the Beat Dance Club at the upper level of Café d'France at Mango Square, along the mardi gras route Mango Avenue, Cebu City. The hip-shaking contest for the ladies begin at 9pm with DJ Rainier spinning commercial house tunes, along with popular hip-hop and R&B music.
The hip-house and other club anthems styling of DJ's July and Rainier will rule the dance floor on Saturday, January 20. At the open patio will be the live tribal drumbeats of Mungkanghan.
The Sinulog Mardi Gras party on Sunday, January 21, begins in the morning with tribal house and latin house. Commercial house, hip-hop and R&B alternate the party, which runs simultaneously with the Sinulog Parade along Mango Avenue.
Upcoming trance-coustic group Crack will set an upbeat mood inside the dining room on Friday, January 19 and Saturday, January 20 with their danceable live house acoustics after dinner. Reservations are welcomed at 2329962.
Presented by Converse, Reggae Sa Sinulog 2007 presents upcoming and successful local indie reggae groups in Cebu. Leading the pack is five-year old Pasakanin, famous for their comical adaptation of Under d'Sea, Sayaw Ta Bai, Kinabuhi and Magkahiusa..
Upcoming reggae group BMW (short for Big Marvin and d'Wigiws) who recently launched their self-titled album will also render an all-original repertoire including its hit single "Vanessa."
Reggae Sa Sinulog 2007 will be hyped up with the ska-reggae of Superspy, Ogotip and QueenCities, with their trumpets, trombone and saxophone styling. Plus performances of No Parking Anytime, Raskafarian. and Toysouljahs.
Converse items are up for grabs during games in between band sets. Those who will wear Converse footwear and apparel will be given free entrance passes between 7pm and 8pm. Tribal group Mungkanghan will do and drum beat exhibition when the gates open to the public.
Friday, January 19 is Sinulog Plugged in Party. Performing are Kadangyan , Mano Mano, Zarah Smith, Avlish, Shadowbox Serenade, Apple Drive, Pole, At Fault, Soul Brothers, Tudes, Ground End Points, Idk, Paradigm Shift, Sinfilled, Anagram, Stallions, Novena, Dysfunction, Krystal's Edge, Moonlit Scene, Mood, with special performances by Playphonics, 1017, and Boy Elroy of Manila!
